We don't want a WMD investation. Not right now.
We have to understand that the Repugs still control Congress and they'll control any investigation Congress does. An investigation will be used by the Bush junta as a vehicle for covering up and "clearing" the top people.

So we don't want an investigation right now. There are plenty of anti-Bush facts percolating around in the public sector, which we are well aware of but which have not found their targets yet. Let the recently-awakened press go to work on the Junta with these facts. When the Repugs are mortally wounded, maybe even after Bush has been driven out of office, use the investigation to nail the survivors.

But now is not the time for an investigation.

1. So we shouldn't make an effort to remove him from office, just
hope that with luck the Republicans will go away, and then we can investigate? Should we allow him to continue causing harm to the country while we wait for something to happen that we refrain from participating in?

3. "So we shouldn't make an effort to remove him from office"
Are you talking about impeachment? That will never happen with Repugs in control of both houses. Never. Not under any circumstances, no matter how good the case is. We will remove him from office in 2004, after he's bled to death from the thousands of cuts the press is now going to inflict on him.

16. how little you know about the nature of politicians
you sound like the pre-Watergate investigation talking heads "Nixon is too powerful. He just won re-election in a landslide"

Congressional pols, repub or not, will NOT go down with a sinking ship. They'll bail like the rats they are.

Read a little history next time, before you post such claptrap

2. Excuse?? Bush lied PEOPLE DIED, there are rethugs who are waking up....
....as well. So if we can impeach a duly ELECTED President for lieing about sex we can sure as hell impeach a WH squatter for lieing to start a war that has killed over 200 Americans. What let him get away with it because the rethugs might cover up something. Well, DUH, that is going to happen no matter when an investigation is held. So bring it on and we Dems just need to make darn sure the rethugs don't get to white wash anything by keeping track of and publicizing the lies.

4. RIGHT FUCKING NOW is most definitely the time to CALL for an investigation
Keeping in mind that no investigation could really begin prior to Labor Day.

You never want to introduce a new product until after August.

5. the republicans are resisting mightily
this leads me to think that the investigations will do damage to Bush.

For one thing, they would keep the story alive. Even if he's cleared, he suffers the longer the story overshadows everything he does, like it overshadowed the big Africa trip. And I'm sure they'd rather have Cheney out performing pit bull duty on the dem candidates, rather than hiding in his hole.

7. Of course it's the right time.
The most important issue is ensuring that the idiot doesn't win the 04 election. From now until then we need investigations of EVERYTHING and as many and as often as possible. The fact that an investigation IS occurring is important.

Like we should wait, um, what, several *years*, when we *might* get control of Congress back, to start an investigation?

11. This investigation is going to take a while
Do it now and keep the heat on. If the Repubs at the Capital see it not going away by next winter or spring they may cut their losses and dump the idiot son.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!

I want the investigation and I want it now. I don't have any hope of impeaching him, but I can sure damage his poll numbers. It is already knocked those down by twenty points, and want to knock them down some more.

17. You shouldn't have put 'we' in the title...
...because you seem to be rather alone in your quest to put justice on hold.

- How can we pretend to be a 'nation of laws' and then say it's okay put off investigation and/or prosecution until a more convenient time?
