U.S. a Laughing Stock

The longer it takes us to subdue Iraq the more we are turning into a laughing stock in the eyes of the world. Everyone knew there was no real provocation and that Iraq was not a threat to mighty America. But the snickers are starting to get louder as it becomes apparent that our powerful military is ill-suited for the task of restoring order in a subjugated country. The peoples of the world are laughing at us because, frankly, we look foolish.

Patrick Cockburn blurts out the truth when he observes the extent of our humiliation:

There is no doubt that the US has failed to win the war. Much of Iraq is a bloody no man's land. It was impressive on a third world country with a 5th rate military. Now we're stuck in no man's land and there is no way to go, while our kids keep dying and Bush keeps mumbling this s--- about spreading democracy and freedom.

How many of our people would have put our military in harm's way to spread democracy and freedom to a Muslim country who wasn't the least bit interested in the concept? But Bushco did it anyway. Dead kids but his energy friends have never enjoyed a higher profit.
