Frist Picks wrong neighborhood for shoe shopping

- right below the offices of Americans United to Protect Social Security

-snip- (pic of Frist in socks talking out of shoe store door to his staff)

Between 35-50 people from Americans United and the Campaign for Americas Future demonstrated against and spoke to Frist who said he support the President's plan which includes privatization and middle class benefit cuts.

Story from Americans United to Protect Social Security:

And it grew to 50-60 people - 6 DC police cars showed up, one gave Frist's SUV a ticket

- he spoke to our folks for a while - said he supports the president's plan - it was a cordial exchange for the most part - it ended with a big part of the group chanting Senator Frist don't privatize.

- get this - he double parked and held up traffic, got ticketed, got protested - and all this to buy two pairs of shoes from Allen-Edmonds

- one pair cost $235 and the other was $295. He agreed with one of our staff members that privatization was not a solution for solvency.

Senator Frist is blocking traffic to buy $530 worth of shoes and he wants to cut SS benefits for the middle class - come on.

1. They should have towed away his SUV
It's pathetic, but the story doesn't surprise me one bit. And it's not middle class either; in fact the middle class is getting smaller and smaller and the saying is that a society will start to collapse if the middle class collapses.

3. How can he afford $530 for shoes on a $150,000/year salary?
Who is he getting money from? He is supposed to be a public servant, yet he's got Imelda Marcos taste in shoes.

5. Well, his family does own the largest corporate hospital chain in the US
He's still getting money from that somehow. Kinda like how Uncle Dick still gets a Halliburton check.
