1. Stevens, then Souter.

I've been genuinely, pleasantly surprised about David Souter. He's become a moderating influence on the Court. I'll bet Bush I will now say that appointing Souter was a big mistake. It wasn't.

6. I think Stevens is in reasonably good health.
But he's 85. Yeah...I have all of my hopes for this good man's continuing good health.

2. What Terrya just said.
Souter has turned out to be a pleasant suprise, despite the fact that he was appointed during Reagan-Bush.

9. I like O'Conner personally
She often takes a sort of equity approach to balance the interest of appellant and appellee and try to strike a compromise instead of the winner-takes-all approach. Can't say I agree w/ her on a lot of issues but she's usually good about applying the law. Her opinion in Casey probably saved Roe v. Wade which wasn't well written(not the decision but the opinion itself - could have made a far stronger argument). Her opinions also make for a pretty good read, usually not at confusing as some other justices(i.e. Scalia - whose opinions are indecipherable and seem to be grounded in the laws of another planet)
Of course, I like Ginsburg, Stevens and Souter just as much.
