It's coming to a theatre near you, the Iranian war. Maybe we'll do a pre-emptive nukulear war...less messy.

1. I wonder if those firecrackers at the Brit Embassy will be blamed on Iran.
That's about all the excuse Bush and Cheney need.

2. All signs are pointing at Iran...same rhetoric as pre-Iraq.
I know we don't have the soldiers but I don't think they care.

3. Not quite as much blood lust...
... as before the Iraq invasion, but, it's building. Guess they don't need to whip the public into a frenzy just for a bombing campaign, do they? But, then, they've already blamed 9/11 on Iraq, so it will tougher to now blame it on Iran. Harder to get the public up and shouting without some revenge motives.

But, there will be more of this in the next few weeks, certainly. Expect some satellite photos of dirt, where underground facilities are supposed to be, increasingly belligerent talk, Kindasleezza Rice talking about threats to the US (she's already shown herself to be not very imaginative in this regard), Cheney talking about Iranian nukes destroying Nebraska, etc.

These people are nothing if not predictable.

8. Honestly, You really think congress is gonna let it go through?
After the lies of the Iraq war, the dems in the house in senate would make it prettttttty friggin hard for any bill to pass authorizing war in Iran.

19.  got that right and a couple two three an more things
-- people won't fall for the WMD BS again - at least not in the begininning. It won't be WMD's - it will be NUKES NUKES NUKES

-- Bush*'s numbers are in the toilet ( http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls.html ) and congress's numbers are on the way to the waste treatment plant. That leave a very short coat tail to ride for the 2006-midterms.

-- people are disgusted, but they are also easily frightened - and we all know how well bush and GOPers use scare tactics.

-- the bushies know if they are to invade Iran, it will have to be before mid-term (s)Elections, they also know that such an invasion coupled with scare"ism" will help their chances of retaining absolute power - package the whole thing in the flag and strap on a bible belt for added effect (not only do "they" hates our freedom - they hates our religion too)

Scenario 1: Israel bombs a "nuke" facility in Iran, Iran retailiates and General Yeee-Haww says we have to defend Israel

Scenario 2: be it LIHOP or MIHOP - a terrattack on US Soil, blame it on Iran and General Yee-Haww invades Iran

I have no doubt that at the least, the bushies will be pushing for an Iran Invasion when bush returns from his August vacation. It will be a repeat of what we saw prior to invading Iraq. Remember bush said he had no plans on his desk to invade Iraq, and just a couple of months ago said "Invade Iran? ridiculous"

This has nothing to do with who hates our freedom, or spreading democracy or making the world safer - it has to do with power and "biddness"

Besides, they will call it part of the 'War On Terror' and they don't need no permission.

11. Don't think so
Thankfully, I think the administration realizes there is no way they could justify another war, even if they could afford it, which they can't.

21. They need an enemy to redirect the anger.
They got us to be angry at Afghanistan instead of Bush&Co and we attacked them. Then, they got us to be angry at Iraq for imaginary WMD's and we attacked them, too. Next is Iran. The only thing that will get them to stop redirecting our anger is to remove them. There are so many countries out there with poor economies and small armies, this could go on forever.
