The economy is revving up...jobs abound
if you believe the MSM. Unemployment is DOWN, according to AAR news because--get this--summer jobs are available. Yes, Amurrikens are finding employment as gardeners, lifeguards, summer interns and camp counselors. Never mind that they won't earn a living wage or get benfits. Never mind that thousands of the unemployed are not being counted any longer because they've been out of work so long. And it's a good thing, too since this encouraging news comes just in time to rescue the closing markets from a weekend decline as interest rates rise.

1. Job SHORTAGE 14 million
Edited on Fri May-06-05 04:47 PM by oscar111
see my sig right below for facts and source links

this JS .. Job Shortage.. stat is the only one you should pay attention to. It is the bottom line to all the odd fragmentary stats put out by MSM. Yet you will never hear the JS stat.
Even LW sites havent figured this out. Those 14 million jobless, of necessity jobless, are the folks trying to live without an income.

the prisons are full of folks who tried to live without an income.

Decoded: job shortage causes crime.

"Job shortage people" is what we should say, when the neews has a story on street crime.

dont like crime? work for total employment.. see JFA link in my sig... jobs for all.

2. The economy isn't improving, it's just the same
job jump that happens every year for summer.

10. Plus, if you get so desperate that you have to sell your stuff,
isn't that usually a bad thing?

9. Don't forget all those people taking stuff to the pawn shop.
That counts too.

Also all those trips to the blood bank should count towards the GNP.

4. On CNN's front page they ask "Job market really back?"
...under the "Business" section (http://www.cnn.com/).

I imagine a thank-you note and complimentary basket of mini-muffins will be arriving from Karl Rove at the CNN offices any day now.

:grr:

6. We Will Never Get The Straight Facts About The Economy, Jobs....
Edited on Fri May-06-05 04:49 PM by Double T
....or unemployment figures from this administration, never have ,never will. Wait a few months and they will be going back and adjusting the phony figures downward for this month, as they have previously done.

7. Did you hear any of the commercials on AAR today?
The one CNN guy was mentioning a poll that said people think the economy is going poorly. Then he said something like, 'well in reality the job numbers are up', like everything is okay now according to him. Then they had someone on saying 'There has been a lot of negative talk about the economy lately, well now we no they were wrong'.

Total media bullshit.

It's disgusting and I'm sick of it.

11. Some rebound
less than 10% of those jobs are "high paying" jobs that you can support a family on. A real sustainable rebound would have 20% of those jobs being "high paying". Economics 101.

15. The same rate means more are unemployed.
Reasonably assuming a larger population of adults 18-65.

16. Let's do a little "Fuzzy BushCo. MSM Math"
Let's take the number of people filing for new unemployment claims, and subtract those from these newly created bottom end jobs.

Okay, now if you end up with a negative number, just disregard the math problem* and stick to the newly created bottom end jobs and multiply by twelve. Brag about how many new bottom end jobs have been added by this month. Dismiss any other total as pure fiction.
*If questioned about the new unemployment claims, deny that any jobs have been lost (blame 9/11 if necessary) and only mention how many bottom end jobs have been created since 2001. Keep repeating, soon people will know it as a fact.

See how Fuzzy BushCo. MSM Math works? :wtf:
