2. I think a lot of hetero parents feel they "failed" somehow

when their children "out themselves". Rather than turning against themselves, many turn against their children and the gay culture in general.

I also think that many people who are anti-gay are either closeted and afraid they'll be "found out" or live in fear that their kids may be gay and it would be "their fault".

A lot of people are generally clueless on this entire issue, especially a lot of "Christians" who claim it is "wrong per the Bible".

These people need to understand that, whether or not they want to accept that gays are "born that way", it is just plain "un-Christian" to spew hatred against them. If they truly believe that everyone is God's creation and God loves all of His creations, then how can they justify their own hatred and fear of gays?

They have absolutely NO evidence that gay parents produce "gay children" or are in any way, shape or form inferior to heterosexual couples in that regard. In fact, I know gay couples with children and their relationships are much more stable than those of other, heterosexual, couples I know, and they are very devoted parents. I know two gay men who are raising a little girl--now, tell me, how could they possibly influence this child in a way that would "make her" become a lesbian, or even if she WERE a lesbian how could anyone say that it was "their doing", and how could they possibly pose any kind of a "risk" to this child in any sexual sense at all?

17. The one thing I am most proud of my father for... He never thought he

failed in that regard (he failed in other ways, but that's another story). When I told him I was gay when I was 19, he said that he had always suspected it and that he was glad that I wouldn't be marrying a man and giving up my independence. His reaction kinda bummed me out because I was looking for him to disown me at the time. :)

7. I would be curious

from a scientific point of view why some animals are gay. The only problem with researching it though is that by doing so, the haters would want to use that research to try to "cure" gays. I have wondered if there are pheromone receptors in all of us....straights might have receptors only for the opposite sex....gays for the same sex....and bi people...well maybe they have all kinds of receptors.

Children have a way of reflecting their/our parents' greatest aspirations and darkest fears. They/we learn to mock adult insecurities, mimic adult triumphs, and as they/we age, gain a measure of their/our own to share with the next generation. What fears and pleasures will we/they know in turn, those who come after them/us? Surely the experience itself must evolve along with the zeitgeist, seeking unexplored niches in which to nurture behaviors and beings unimagined in mythology, undiscovered in science, undug archaeologies waiting to emerge in the spirit of generations to come.

Is this facet of Nature genetic? Is it psychological? Where does one end and the other begin? You/I have your/my mother's eyes, and your/my grandfather's nose, and your/my father's temper, and your/my provincial accent... Is it rooted in subjective experience, or subjective chemistry, or an inseparable combination, this alleged lack of willpower?

Who are the authoritarians to speak of willpower? It is the will to power itself that drives the engine of discovery, which must be surpressed for authority to exist. But the eyes of the world have opened, life perceives itself again. Look, little Eve has her Mother's eyes!
