Run don't walk and call your senators on the national ID #202 224 3121
Tell them this is a disgusting invasion of privacy, that it violates our civil rights, and that it will cost us billions that we don't have already.

Please, I'm on the phone with Thad Cochran as we speak.

I'm now going to call some of my favorite democrats and beg that they don't support this shit.

I am also planning on writing some letters to some of our bigger state news papers, hopefully they will be good enough to print.

1. Are you talking about the REAL ID Act that was

attached to the Appropriations Bill?

If so, it just passed the House.

Can the Senate take it out?

3. I dont think they can modify it as it is a conference report
It can only be voted up or down.

Does somebody know for a fact if this is the case?

5. The Real ID act passed the House, byitself, in Feb. 2005, then was
sent to the Senate (was HB 418). In March, they attached it to the Emergency Appropriations Bill (HR 1268). This came out of the committee last week and although, the Senate did get some things changed, the Real ID part is still attached. The Senate will vote next week. There was hardly any debate on this thing in the House.
