Small Business Bill of Rights Bill voted down!
Why are the Pubs so against this one???

It was a bill that would allow Small Business to join together to get better health insurance rates.

What in the world do they have against this bill?????

2. You are kidding me?
The chimp just talked about it, while he was stalling to hear ideas from his earpiece person, during his energy speech.

I heard they did that but my wife is the owner of our small business and 2 months ago we got one. And I am glad we did payed off all the credit card debt. On insurance I pay $1,100. per month for my wife and myself. Dont know how much I can take and I have already heard
that its going up another 15%, Nice. That hike might break my back.

6. because they are fuckin us, they want small business to stop
insuring medical for employees. like we will have to do soon with our employees. we will be the bad guys. they want individuals to insure themselves and then soon want to make it a law that we have to have insurance like you are suppose to have car insurance.

but if we small business can gather and get a huge enough policy to make affordable adn also good coverage, we would do it. that isnt what bush wants

10. Didn't you get the memo?
It is not the job of the EMPLOYER to provide health insurance. Amurcans need to be responsible- they need to take care of themselves. It is part of the ownership society. Shrub's latest fix for healthcare entails the use of private insurance accounts- yup- it is YOUR job to set aside money every month and pay your own way. This will teach you responsibility in making health care choices. It will eliminate all of those unnecessary and frivolous trips to the emergency room that were- admit it- just for fun.

Sheesh. Get with the program.

:sarcasm:

11. Because insurance companies are BIG business
and that's who they prefer. Screw the little guy, give all the "have's and have more's" even more.

12. Well, there was a lot more in the bill...
....than just the insurance provisions. A lot more.

And frankly, small businesses have been joining together as associations to form larger groups and, thereby, securing better insurance rates for years. That's nothing new and there's nothing stopping it now.

13. I did not read the bill. What issues were in it that turned off the Pubs
so much. I did look at the vote count and I think there were 22 Pubs voted yea, and that's it.

What was it that got their ire up this time, or is this just another "vote down every dem ammendment no matter what?"

14. No clue what their specific problems were with it.
If I had to guess, I'd say it was some combination of the provisions in the last four items in the bill. But here's the text of the bill so you can see if you can figure it out better than I.

15. Kerry did fight for it today though
Kerry did fight for the SBA, but did anyone else notice that he seemed a little off? He kinda stumbled for his words a few times. He wasn't his usual self. Maybe he is still taking pain pills for whatever happened to his knee? Thoughts? Maybe he is burning a lot of midnight oil in this elec. fraud thing? I'm exhausted just thinking about what his average day must be like!

16. I sure did notice he was off his game!
I had cspan on in background and was doing a lot of other things at the time. Most of the well known Senators I recognize just by their voice. I heard Kerry with the uh's, er's, hmm's and actually, outloud said "What's the matter with him today????
