2. Clark isn't a member of the DLC, but Dean was
So is Kerry, Edwards, Lieberman, and of course Gore and Clinton were.

It looks to me that Clark and Dean support DLC policies 100%

5. As a gore supporter,
I presume you must be a big fan of the DLC. I'm not sure why you try to use it as a perjorative.

4. What is his "message"?
Edited on Wed Sep-17-03 03:24 PM by SpikeTrees
For example, Bill Clinton's message was that he understood what ordinary people were going through and having to deal with during a bad economy--"I feel your pain".

What is Candidate Clark's message?

Please give me something thoughtful. Cutting and pasting a few links will not be sufficient. Thank you.

edit: I am not asking you, DEM FAN, I am asking those who have followed Clark and are enthusiastic about his candidacy.

8. I can't give you the lowdown on exactly what his message is
because a lot of it hasn't been spelled out yet.

ONe of the reasons I have decided to support him is that he could have the best chance of beating Bush and I think we can all agree that this goal is the # 1 goal. I think he raises a considerable level of fear in Republicans and their attempts thus far to pin anything on him are falling far short. Bear in mind that this campaign will be one of the most viscious in history.

From what I have seen thus far his ideas and his politics are well within what I am prepared to accept. Being left of 90% of the Democrat Party I realize that I will always have to compromise to some degree in some areas.

What clinched the deal for me was his appreance on Bill Maher's Real Time last Friday. When asked if he was a Liberal he did not shy away but instead said yes, and confirmed that this was because we live in a liberal democracy (or what is supposed to be a liberal democracy). The way he handled Sean Hannity a few days later confirmed my initial impressions.

There's a long haul ahead so I can't say categorically, he is the one but if he gains some early momentum he could go all the way.

6. Yes, I'm in the same boat
I think a lot of us will be for a while, until the official campaign has some time.

In the meantime, this is the official Clark campaign site:

And you can see or read transcripts of interviews here:

7. What's the hurry?
Why not let the campaign unfold over the next few months. I'm sure there will be plenty of chances for you to see and hear him speak and form an opinion.

9. Read the Esquire article
it's long, but well worth the read.

http://www.esquire.com/features/articles/2003/030801_mfe_clark_1.html

After reading, you might have a better understanding of the man they call "The General."
