meanwhile - anyone have a list of the Clinton nominees that never made it to a vote or even committee consideration because of "holds" placed on them by repugs?

Remember, Repugnicans get a free pass to rewrite and revise history...and the corporate media echoes it.

According to them, the world and, specificially, the Repugnican Party didn't exist until 1980...anything they did before then wasn't really them. And in certain ways it wasn't...many of the Southern Conservatives who were still in the Democratic party.

Also, they always fail to mention the rule change the Repugnicans made that forced the fillibuster as well as why there's a 2/3rds rule on judges. They conveniently forget to mention that prior to 2000, any member of the Judiciary committee could "ice" a nomination just with a simple letter. The Repugnicans did this over 60 times to Clinton...then just swept away the rule when they had enough votes to effectively block any nomination from ever seeing a hearing yet getting to the floor for a vote. Many didn't even make it to a committee hearing.

The last big lie is that if these judges were so "needed" and qualified, Bunnypants could recess appoint them...or just bypass the Senate and put whomever he wants on the bench if a vacancy exists. I've asked a local Repugnican why Pricilla Owens hasn't been recess appointed like several others were, and he openly said "we'd lose this as an issue without her".

Hopefully people are sniffing this being a right wing power grab...as premilinary polls are showing. If that's the case, c'mon Frist...bring it on!!!
