Jeb Crow Shrub Kneeling to Pope
Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 10:37 PM by UTUSN
How come JFK had to swear he would not kow-tow to the Pope. How come the (previous) pope condemned Shrub's war, yet pope-ism is rampant among the B.F.E.E now--and seemingly vice-versa? I haven't found the graphic I'm really looking for, which is Jeb Crow Shrub kneeling on both knees, but this is a close up, omitting the knees, courtesy of our MSN, which is SO sensitive to our sensibilities:

Pope Benedict XVI meets with Florida Governor Jeb Bush (L) in the Vatican after the Pope's inaugural mass, April 24, 2005. Pope Benedict XVI took charge of his Church at a majestic inauguration on Sunday and set the tone for his papacy with a plea to humanity to return to God and transform a world he called a desert of pain and poverty. 5. Right
It makes sense to him since he is Catholic. Not junior. That was just a photo-op. But still he is one of them with his policies on everything but the Iraq war.

Edited on Sun Apr-24-05 10:50 PM by Cleita
That must have been a double load in his and Babs pants when Jebby told him that not only was he marrying a Hispanic, but converting to Catholicism too. Oh, my the gin must have flowed that day.

12. He converted after he lost his bid for governor in 1994.
>> "I'd just gotten whupped in the governor's race in '94. It gave me a chance to kind of call time out, and think about important things," Bush said.

He said his wife, Columba, and their three children are Catholics, and he has been attending Mass for years. He also described the Catholic faith as "very powerful" and "serene."

But he also described breaking with the Episcopal church after a priest talked politics from the pulpit while his father, former President George Bush, was in the audience.

"He started talking about political issues, which I thought was completely inappropriate," Bush recalled. "My dad happened to be there and I didn't think he needed to get lectured by an Episcopal priest. I said, "I've had it."'

13. It would not have been a requirement..
Catholics can marry people of other faiths. The issue is bringing up the children as Catholics. So, he didn't need to do it for marriage reasons.More likely it was political.

4. Because of his policies
He's just like them except with the Iraq war. I'm sure they fit in just fine together. Plus the Bush family are photo-op hogs.

15. Benedict is also staunchly opposed to materialism.
Just because he opposed Communism does not mean that he is in favor of Capitalism.

...to Pope Benedict, he also kissed his ring (saw it on my local news).

Freepers are probably still picking their jaws up off the floor.
