The admins have placed on the HOME page a post about Faux News' Brian Wilson's use of DeLay talking points as fact, not citing the source or offering countering opinion. I am grateful for those who had given the post 7 "greatest" nominations and for the admins to give it even greater exposure by placing it on the home page, as I otherwise may not have seen it.
The post was made Thursday evening -
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=109x20454 - in the MEDIA forum. As of Saturday morning, it has a total of THIRTEEN responses. Read it yourself and see if you agree it is more thought-provoking than 13 responses.
It gave me reason to think about my "surfing" habits. What restricts us from seeing this kind of post? Do I (and we all) have certain habits that keep us in one or two forums, and within those only the first page?
Consider adjusting your "surfing" habits. When first logging in, read the HOME and GREATEST pages. Go into forums you usually do not frequent (when is the last time you visited your state's forum?). In your usual "haunts", go to the second, third and subsequent pages, looking for posts that may have slipped through the cracks.
I find starting on the HOME and GREATEST pages is a great way of catching up when I've been away for a while; by skipping the first page of my usual haunts (POLITICS and GD) sometimes turns up treasures that have been overlooked.
