PHOTOS: BRINGING THE WAR HOME TO THE TAXPAYERS in Eugene, OR
Those Patriots in Eugene, OR are at it again.

<snip>

Thirty activists from Eugene-Springfield forcefully protested the war in front of the main mail drop-off point for last minute Lane County tax filers. About five thousand cars with eight thousand people passed by our group at an average of 5 mph as we stood lined up lined up for nearly six hours along their path, holding graphic images of the injured casualties of the war: children, men, women, and soldiers, bearing messages like, “Your tax dollars paid for this,” or “It’s our money, stop the war.” (See link for "Our Posters) at, http://www.squadron13.com/CivilResistance/TaxDay2005/default.htm)* And we had lots of facts interwoven into our placards as well.

<snip>

These folks absolutely rock. WAY TO GO!!!!

2. I don't think American media will ever publish this dissent.
They have their marching orders from their corporate masters & dissenting views are not allowed. Many European news organizations are taking an interest in what's happening in this country. I believe that is where events like this will be reported.

3. Very Moving and Very Inspiring
A very-heart filled thanks to those who cared enough to make the point. Whose to say how many people were made to stop and think. Powerful.

4. Jesus.
I had not seen the photo of the burning soldier and the horribly scarred man in the baseball cap.

Unbelievable.

Where is our Life Magazine? We are at war, and instead of soldiers, we get Ann Coulter on the cover of Time.

:cry:

6. I agree with you
One way to get these pictures out to a wider audience is to nominate this page - it will remain in view for 24 hours. Every little bit helps.

5. They're doing it the smart way
Using photos of war to get people emotionally. The Bush administration doesn't want you to see these pictures for a reason so I think it's smart they're doing their messages with these photos.

7. Every action, every event should have photos.
They are much more powerful than words alone. Photos should be part of the message, or should be taken to show the event to anyone who cares to look.
