They have been punished enough and I'm not sure I know why.

At this point in time I think the Iraqi people would like for us to go away, enough already. I firmly believe they are ready as a whole to lay down their arms against each other, enough killing. I think they are ready to stop the destruction of their infrastructure and cities. I also believe they are fully capable of forming their own government, a government they can embrace, the most important aspect. If the country's and people who are trying to influence them would leave them to themselves they would have a strong and stable government in a short time. As I said earlier one they can embrace. They'll never have anything to do with us, ever and I wouldn't blame them for it either. My bet would be that a lot of country's would help them in any way they could because most people in the world believe this to be an illegal, unjust and unnessary war. Why can't the president and his cabinet not see this simple fact...Why

2. We're an EMPIRE and we want their oil.
Until that happens, we will be in Iraq.

Have you read John Perkin's book, "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man?" He dishes the dirt on our government and how we operate. We go to countries like Ecuador, Panama, Indonesia, Jakarta and build their infrastructure (John's job was to plan these infrastructures). We build roads, schools, energy companies and the like. ALL done on a "loan" to "help" their people live a better life. Of course the loan is paid back WITH interest and after a few years these poor countries default on the loan that the U.S. government KNEW they could never repay. After their default, we take the resources we want as payment...OIL. If that doesn't work like in Panama and Ecuador, the leaders are assassinated and a crooked/U.S. ass kissing leader is put in his place and we get everything from those countries. We bleed them dry. If THAT doesn't work (the assassination) then the last resort is WAR....IRAQ. The Jackals could never get to Saddam to kill him, so to war we go. The book is GREAT. I'm almost finished with it and am so disgusted by this country. I really am. The answer to your question...it ALL BOILS DOWN TO THE OIL. When we have control of their oil, we may pull out most of the troops, but some will remain to guard the OIL FIELDS.
