Boy I hope he rips into Bush for the whole show! I hope he holds nothing back.

4. go Jon Stewart!
I'm really hoping he tears Bush a new one on her show, we are a little bit behind here in NewZealand, but it will be worth waiting for, when it airs.

2. Is Oprah liberal?
I hear people joke about her running for president. Also does anyone know what she does with her money. Is she's a philanthropist?

3. well given that Michael Moore tried to coax her into running, I imagine
that she's at least left of center.

7. She does donate large amounts of money
and mobilizes other rich celebs to do likewise!

8. yes, but do homeless people live in her 7 mansions?
the richer she gets, the less I like her.

I'd admire her more if she just said "I'm rich now, bitches" and retired...but her "I'm still a poor girl at heart" posing is so disingenuous.

I'll never forgive her for having Mr. and Ms. Gropinator on during the grope-gate scandal and fawning over him like Jesus.

10. disingenuous yes, but she still does more good than harm
which is more than I can say for a lot of rich celeb types.

11. I've never seen her behave as you say
"I'm a poor girl at heart." She's earned her wealth and she uses it well. We live in a capitalist society. Some people do well. She didn't make her money by exploiting migrant workers or anything like that. I don't think it makes much sense to hate people for being rich in a capitalist society, especially someone who does as much philanthropy as Oprah. She's knows very well how fortunate she is.

5.  Really??? I had no idea -- Now I can watch it!
I wouldn't want to miss that!
Cameron Diaz is also on with Jon Stewart (http://www.oprah.com), so I doubt it will get too political... but I hope he will get some cuts in.

9. Yes, her new environmental show on MTV "Trippin" is pretty good.
I didn't like it at first because I think they are embarassing and typically American the way they behave, but they are giving exposure to alot of issues...they went to Patagonia the other day and saw the glacier and went to visit the place where corporate thugs want to put an aluminum smelter, which would drown miles of villages and kill the fishing industry there.

14. She may be, but
what I meant was I thought it less likely when I saw there were multiple celebrity guests. Going one on one, having more time with just Jon Stewart might have allowed him to get his thoughts about the current administration out there. Oprah steers clear of picking sides in US politics. No endorsing or bashing. (maybe in private, but not on her show.)

I did watch the show and they did not get into politics. He has just been named Entertainer of the Year, and has 5 Emmys, and his has been on the best sellers list for 5 months. Oprah did say the book had been banned from WalMart. She called him smart, funny and a comic genius. There were clips of his show. They talked about his son, his wife, his home. He did not discuss politics.

Same with Cameron Diaz. She had clips of Trippin. Conversation with a celebrity. No politics.
