Why are the fundies' rules so arbitrary??
I'm serious when I say that I have no idea how people buy into all of the creepy rules that the fundies claim come from the Bible. It just doesn't make sense to me -- particularly when dealing with behavior that doesn't affect anyone.

Really -- how do they interpret the Bible to read that it is evil to have a glass of wine with dinner or a couple of beers with friends??

And what's really the problem with two people having sense who are emotionally mature enough to understand the consequences?

Even dancing is somehow off-limits to some of these freaks (e.g. John Ashcroft)

I honestly and truly don't get it.

2. They pick and choose in the Bible
Leviticus tells them to hate homosexuals, but leviticus also tells them to stone to death those who work on the sabbath! They are insane and do what they are told to do from the pulpit.

5. because they're crazy dude
They don't read the Bible. The first miracle of Jesus was turning water into wine.

There's nothing to get. It isn't about Jesus. It isn't about following His example. It isn't about the literal word of a Bible most of them are not literate enough to read in the first place. It is about leaders who want money and stupid people who fork it over because they've been hypnotized with lies.

The conservation movement is a breeding ground of communists
and other subversives. We intend to clean them out,
even if it means rounding up every birdwatcher in the country.

6. easy... they have little or nothing to do with god, jesus, or the bible
but god, jesus, and the bible are good tools to get people to believe what they believe

and the more things are sins, the easier it is to control the "flock"

and that's what it's about, control. These poor people, who really need something outside of themselves to belive in, are often duped by these false profits. Notice that the leaders are always getting caught doing that what is forbidden.
