Fat Tony's Inconsistency
New York Post article via Atrios:

"One gay student asked whether government had any business enacting and enforcing laws against consensual sodomy. Following Scalia's answer, the student asked a follow-up: 'Do you sodomize your wife?'

Right on for that student. If Tony thinks there is no right to privacy, why is he so zealously guarding his?

The way, there's a huuuge New Yorker article about fat Tony from a few weeks ago-- it went on 15 plus pages, I read sections but had a hard time giving all my time to it (so much for my discipline/interest). But anyhow, one thing stood out. He supposedly doesn't respect Sandra Day O'Connor because she's intellectually inconsistent-- whereas he's good friends with Ruth Ginsburg _because_ of her consistency. Yet, here in the same article (which has been documented elsewhere) is the scene where he gets a question from the student about Election 2000--

And rather than explain his position. He replies (paraphrasing) "It was four years ago, and we've had an election since then, so my response is 'Get over it'". Nice job Tony, hide from your own inconsistency. Where are the States' rights you so consistently supported?

I'll answer for you Tony-- they're in the trash can with your consistency, principles, and honor. Not only does Tony flout his credo, he doesn't have the guts to explain himself. Tony may be a smart guy, but he's a gutless coward.
