TED KOPPEL says Good-Bye!
I know the show has no been wonderful for a long time. I still have very fond memories of when it was. A great deal of whom I am politically I owe to Ted Kopple. Nightline was one of the really honest news shows that didn't talk to you like you were a child. Another nail in the coffin of REAL NEWS. NOW is will be off the air soon( I'm sure) and now Nightline. It truly is a sad day.

5. After the show where he just read the names of the dead
and the show where they went to Vietnam to interview the villagers who saw what happened with Kerry and the Vietcong with the grenade launcher, and then blasted the living hell out of John O'Neill, I think he deserves more than "don't let the door hit ya."

7. Election fraud is FAR bigger.
And relates to all of the above. If we had NO fraud, Nightline wouldn't have had to do the other shows.

3. Well, he drumbeated the Iran Hostages night after night which hurt Carter

and has always had an "agenda." Now that I'm older and wiser I can see that beating up on Carter made Ted's career. He also just loved Henry Kissinger.

But, I understand what you are saying. At least it was informative and it's a shame it became more obvious where Koppel and ABC's loyalties were after Disney bought it.

So...it's sad to see it go because they probably wont replace it with anything of quality. But, it's been so long since I've watched it (commercials and unfair coverage to Dems)that it probably wont matter much to most of us that he's gone.

4. Interesting you say that
I had the same impression of Koppel when I was younger. Sage, respected, impartial. Looking back he wasn't very damn impartial.
