3. I think he was too
For some reason I wasn't able to vote. Is the poll closed now?
But I'm glad people think that. I wonder if they'll tell now on their shows? So wrong to send Condi instead of Carter. Jackasses.

5. I'm not so sure
Carter's getting up there in years, and he didn't look so good during the DNC, although his speech was the best of the lot.

Ford isn't going, either, and I suspect for the same reason.

4. Poll questions
suck.

There was a post on here for DUers to go take some on-line poll, so I clicked through. And I really tried to give a bunch of good useful answers that would bolster the perspective of the loyal opposition. But I couldn't go through with it-- there were too many questions with no reasonable answers. For instance, "Should President Bush concentrate more on foreign policy or domestic policy in his second term?" The correct answer is, he's equally incompetent at both and he should endeavor to do as little as humanly possible for the remainder of his term-- but there wasn't any way to say that.

In Pynchon's humongous novel Gravity's Rainbow there's a running joke about "Proverbs for Paranoids." One of them is, "If they can get you asking the wrong questions, they don't have to worry about the answers." That's what's going on in most polls.
