5. The most devout person I know...
smokes daily...

Mennonite.

He's like the hippie version of Ned Flanders...

6. No more wrong...
than those folks getting plastered of Chivas at the country club on Saturday night. It all depends on your drug of choice.

Mine are caffeine and bourbon.

It is all to the person and his or her God.

It is called freedom.

9. Marijuana is a special gift from God (that is, if you believe in God)...
Think about it... it grows just about anywhere, it's not physically addictive, and it makes you mellow (to the point you have no desire to fuck with anyone else, unless that person is holding a pizza)...

If you exist, Mr Supreme Being, let me be the first to THANK YOU FOR THE WEED!!!

10. Would Jesus smoke weed?
I'm guessing yes. He did turn water into wine when he wanted to party. Maybe the only reason he didn't perform the miracle of the buds is he didn't need to. His followers always had plenty.

11. I have no dog in this fight
(I have no problem with anyone smoking anything they want to and I am not a Christian and never attend church). However, if pot is illegal then I would think any "church-going" Christian would be wrong (per their religion) to smoke the ghange. At least it would seem so to me - but then I am a pagan, commie, terrorist sympathizer, so what do I know...

13. the people could/should demand impeachment regardless
because it is the only ethical thing to do. One can demand that a rapist be arrested even if they think that arrest will never happen.

Regardless of Congress, screaming "Impeach" from the rooftops is in order IMO. Don't tell me to put my tail between my legs and shut up because of they 'own' everything. Nothing alters the fact that both Bush and Cheney (to begin with) are criminals who are guilty of treason, war crimes etc. Nothing changes that fact.

Impeach!

14. Bill Hicks quote
I think it's interesting the two drugs that are legal - alcohol and cigarettes, two drugs that do absolutely nothing for you at all - are legal, and the drugs that might open your mind up to realise how you're being fucked every day of your life? Those drugs are against the law. Coincidence? See, I'm glad mushrooms are against the law, cos I took 'em one time, you know what happened to me? I laid in a field of green grass for four hours, going, 'My God, I love everything.' Yeah, now if that isn't a hazard to our countries...How are we gonna justify arms dealing if we know we're all one?

15. Maybe they should bring it to church
More than half the people there are probably on zoloft or such.

The government (and the Church) don't care if you do drugs. They just want you to use THEIR drugs

16. Yes. Bad. Very bad.
Smoking anything is bad. Cook marijuana in brownies, etc. I think people should eat marijuana, not smoke it, in most cases. Smoking should be occassional. Warning: do not eat too much.

18. Back in college a pal (Devout Catholic) smoked her first Hawaiian
weed on a Saturday night and got lost walking to church (4 blocks) a few short hours later. Don't know if there's a moral to the story but is sure was funny then.

20. If you think god gave you the herbs to use, as in Genesis,
then there should be no shame attached to grass, opium poppy tea, or coca leaves (or any other lesser known psychoactive plants). To deny god's gifts to us would seem to be the greater sin.

However, some churchgoers still groove on asceticism by proxy, so they overeat, drive SUVs, smoke, booze it up, and support the drug war.

21. I see no problem with it.
If you set down with your congregation your surrounded by people who do things that god wouldn’t approve of. That upstanding business man over there with his soccer mom wife and 3 kids.. fucked his secretary over his desk two days ago. That old man down there who looks harmless use to be a big time swindler and a cheat.

Hell there are probably even a few spouse abusers, child molesters etc around you.. hypocrites you betcha… I wouldn’t worry about your pot.
