Sandy Berger must be dragged out into the street and flogged...
I really don't understand why the republicans are going so whole-heartedly after this man. Sure he was National Security Adviser to the Clinton Administration, sure he was an adviser for the Kerry Campaign, and sure he took classified information out of the national archives, but wasn't all of the information that he borrowed written by him back in the mid to late 90's?

Clinton is out. Kerry is out. So why belabor this obviously harmless mistake? Is it that he holds information about 911 (he was doing research for the 911 commission at the time) that might be detrimental to the current administration? Why did the home and office of this highly respected political figure have to be ransacked by the FBI?

I feel as if this administration's contempt for anyone of the left has abandoned civility and now errs on the side of oppression.

and of course Faux News loves it:

1. Along with Kofi Annan and Martha Stewart. Fox News treats the cut throats
and thieves in the Bush Administration like royalty.

2. They're hoping that these relatively minor missteps by Dems...
will draw attention from the utter sleazitude of the Republicans, esp DeLay.

I don't think anyone's falling for it.

5. Your frustration is noted and appreciated...
What about the energy commission? Has everyone forgotten that Bush lied under oath to congress in his 2003 SOTU address? Why isn't someone/everyone at Halliburton being indicted after being caught stealing multi-millions of tax payer dollars?

Maybe the repukes are right. We do have something wrong with our judiciary. It's called the current legislative branch.

4. More likely, he wants to make sure evidence isn't "lost".
Given these criminals, it would not surprise me that he was making sure that important evidence was maintained.

7. He didn't do a very good job if that was the aim...
some of the stuff is supposedly still "missing" even though he said he handed it all over.

8. Could be.
Umm, Did he really take some of it out in his pants and socks? I remember hearing that at the time, but it seems a bit crazy.

Also, some of the documents have since been destroyed. How exactly was that an accident? I dunno. It doesn't look too good and they'll do anything that might possibly make Clinton look bad. Sucks that Berger gave them this chance.

9. I Occasionally Say The Same Thing About Clinton And It Gets Me Flame
Broiled!

We must punish our own every now and then. Otherwise, we are no better than them.

(Flame away but remember this is not my thread. Please be kind and do not hijack!)
