Regarding the infamous hospice bagpipers
Regarding the infamous hospice bagpipers, I wonderded what anyone SHOULD do if they went so far as to play a song like "Loch Lomond" or "Danny Boy" over and over again.

1. Ask em what fanatic, zealot, crazed, Born Again pipers
wear under their kilts.

Ask em if they know the poor woman's cerebral cortex has turned to haggis.

2. Maybe some should run to a lawyer and sue them for emotional distress
stemming from their PTDMSD or Post Traumatic Disney Movie Stress Disorder caused by "The 3 Lives Of Thomasina," for "Loch Lomond" was the song the kids sang during the "funeral" scene after the cat in that movie was "put down."

Twould be a tough case to win-- bagpipes ALways cause emotional distress.

6. Can't even mention that movie around crowds like that...
funny coincidence to me that you brought up that movie! In one of these threads about religion & dealing with fundies today, I was going to post that one sure way to clear fundie children out of your home is to show "Darby O'Gill & the Little People" or "The Three Lives of Thomasina". Gets 'em every time!

11. It's those darned Picts & Druids, don't ya know?
How about the pipers play "Let It Be", backwards, with an accordion & banjo, as accompaniment? The earth might have split open & swallowed them all up!

(Side note: It was Sean's singing that was fine & Janet Munro made that film magical!)

12. Wonder if it's because the "healer woman's" reputation as a "witch"
preceded her.

16. Oh, you just struck a raw nerve, dammit!
When I was a kid I wanted guitar lessons but my father insisted I take accordian lessons instead. I lasted about 6 months and hated every damned second of it. I won't go within a mile of an accordian.

15. Do you know why bagpipers always march around while playing?
They're trying to get away from the sound.
