1. If you want to read an excellent book about the topic

read the "Last Days of Hitler" by the late H.R. Trevor-Roper. As a young man he served in British Military Intelligence and his job after the war was to locate and find any survivors of Hitlers Bunker to interview them and find out exactly how he spents his last days.
