Question about burning dvds
Is it possible to burn a video file to a dvd burner and view it on a regular dvd player?

I use a Sony DRU710A (about $100)

Looks like there is a new model:

Comes with Nero 6, which is extremely full featured.

Disclaimer: Some really (really, really) old DVD players will not play a home-cooked DVD.

3. Yes, but you need conversion programs
Your DVD burner may have come with one. But there are many different programs to burn such a disk.

4. Depends...
Does your dvd player play VCD disks? If so, then it shouldn't be a problem.

If it doesn't, then you should be able to convert your file to a dvd-friendly ISO file (some burning software, like Nero, have accessories that will allow you to do this)...
