I haven't read all of the threads on the Schiavo case but since I live in florida I have read a lot of the original work by the guardian ad litem and the medical doctors.

Since Mrs. Schiavo's brain is effectively gone, ie. the cognitive portions has anyone thought or realized that if she were to 'wake up'
or if science such as stem cell research could restore that portion of her brain that her memories of her family and life would be gone.

Her cognitive brain cells don't exist anymore. She therefore has no memories of herself, her life or her family. The only way this could be reversed would literally be by divine intervention.

1. A little like Mary Shelly's "Frankenstein" novel, isn't it!!!

...Maybe that's what the Schindler family has in mind, donate their daughter's living body shell for stem cell research at say 3% of all future royalties realized.

2. Physically her brain .....

the inner portion 80% is now fluid. The only 20% remaining is the 'outer' portion. It's 'hallow' if you look at the x-rays, cat-scans etc.. these people need to let her go.
