Mary Matalin to Head Publishing Imprint
http://news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=487&u=/ap/20050322/ap_en_ot/books_mary_matalin_1&printer=1

Mary Matalin, the Republican pundit and strategist also known as the wife/sparring partner of Democratic consultant James Carville, will run a new conservative publishing imprint at Simon & Schuster.

"It's the absolute nexus of what I love to do," Matalin told The Associated Press on Tuesday. "I think we're on the threshold of a whole new way of looking at politics and policy and there's something vital about getting those ideas down in book form."

The imprint, currently unnamed, is expected to release six to 10 books a year, beginning in 2006.

maybe it's time to contact Simon and Schuster and tell them I won't be buying anything from them

1. You mean like this?
Well, well, yuo think we don't have enough conservative inprints out there? Regnery comes to mind, is quite large. Of course there are the CATO Institutte books and our wonderful friends NOT at Enterprise. We don't need another one

But since you insist on going that route... I see Simon and Shusters on the spine I don't buy it, PERIOD!

We are tried of this shit, and we can vote with the only tool corporations understand, my hard earned cash!

2. Whoa - don't they publish liberal books?
I think everyone should get published. If they publish lies and sell it as non-fiction, well, that's a different issue altogether.

Say, that's a new idea! Having been a bookstore employee for years, I don't want to mess up their lives, but I just realized that instead of turning books with Man Coulter's face on them around, I should just carry and re-shelve them in fiction.

4. Oh, I totally agree.
I just meant that I thought Simon & Shuster also had some liberal imprints. Boycott the imprint, not the whole company.
