Tim Robbins said Kevin Costner was the first person offering help,
when he and Susan Sarandon were vilified by the right. I am not sure of his politics, but he stuck up for a friend.

1. From what I understand, Costner may not be a
hard-left firebrand liberal, but he's far more liberal than conservative. That's one of the reasons why he made Dances With Wolves, one of my absolute favorite movies. He's also supposed to be very loyal to friends, no matter what their politics are.

2. There was this other little film Costner was in...
...that I'm sure didn't leave him with the best feelings about the kind of people still running the government. It was on TNT the other night.

14. JFK.
Great flick.

Not completely factual, but essentially true about all the things that matter.

I saw him on Maher, before he (Maher)went conservative more, and he was very well. I loved his "JFK" movie and when I was young I loved "Dances With Wolves." I've seen that movie so many times. I believe Costner voted for Nader?

Ah. I thought he was for Nader? Maybe that was in 2000?

4. Well, hey. Good for Costner. I wasn't sure of his --
-- politics but had heard he initially favored Bush over Al Gore. Maybe the last 4-5 years have soured him some on the Bush agenda.

I sure like it that he stuck up for his friends when they were under fire.

Also I still enjoy FIELD OF DREAMS. It's kind of a pre-steroid baseball romance.

9. It's cool he's there for his friends
I'm still unsure of his politics, though. I watched him on Maher and he just seemed to straddle the fence so bad that I thought he was going to split in half.

He does do good movies.

Whenever you are unsure of a celeb's or ceo's leanings, just go to newsmeat. It's not that difficult.

Costner breakdown:
$3,000  Republican
$21,000  Democrat
total:  $24,000

13. He's a RWer. He was on Maher and showed his true colors that night.
That's another actor on my blacklist.

At least he stood up for his friends.

15. The only repug he's donated to is Gramm
And that was back in the early and mid-90s. Don't know the reason, but maybe Gramm's deficit-hawk rhetoric appealed to Costner.

As a former Texan, I don't much care for Gramm, but compared to the likes of DeLay, Hastert and murdering POS® Bush, he was a saint.
