1. Clark and Dean have met at least four times in recent months.
I don't think one fears the other. Not by a long shot.

12. You've got that one right.
Neither fears the other.

Eternal vows of undying loyalty and mutual admiration due any minute now.

20. Yeh! My Daddy can whip your Daddy
This is so inane! Here we have all these other candidates, good, in their own right, so why would Clark or Dean be afraid of one another? They're by no means, the only ones in the race.

10. ...
You know what else is wicked? Using periods.

I was making a comment on how I saw so many articles about the Dean camp wooing the Clark camp. It wasn't random conjecture.

13. Then write it that way
rather than a challenge for a pissing contest.

One of my last sentences began "Do you agree that..." not "I believe the following, which is therefore correct..."

9. Respect
I wouldn't accuse any of our candidates of cowardice. It takes a lot to run for office and I respect every single one of them.

11. I don't think so.
That's not to say that Clark thinks he will win the nomination. Clark carries himself in a dignified manner and to date has not taken any shots at any of the candidates. So there!

15. I think the pissing contest isn't between the candidates
as much as their "fan base". As an observer it is grating. Not quite as grating as the spat of distorted Kerry threads in the last couple of days, perhaps, and certainly not as ugly. But silly stuff when there are really serious issues being ignored due to preprimary fan bickering.

18. not like any folks around here haven't been throwing it at him
from day one...

Why do the rest of us - with no axe to grind - have to have real discussions pushed aside to fuel some puerile need for adults to taunt each other here?

21. If you only knew how hard I was laughing as I read this thread
Created by the Genius known as trumad, you'd laugh tooooo.... ;-) Folks... This thread was supposed to emit mordant sarcasm towards the other thread. I was in a goofy mood so I tossed it on. You're 100 percent right about the tone of these campaign threads and I wanted to convey that in my own smart ass way. I guess I've got to go back to smart ass 101....
