The RW Strategy Is Becoming Obvious: Divide Our Nation & Break It
As Sherlock Holmes said, disprove all possible elements and whatever remains - no matter how unbelievable - is your answer.

The Rs have always run on wedge issues, but the days of Poppy bush separating election tactics from governing once elected are now gone. It's obvious that the Rs intend to serve up wedge issue after wedge issue until we as a nation are literally at each other's throats.

Look at what they've done since January. It's breathtaking in its menace and malice. The Schiavo debacle is only the latest, but it makes bush's renomination of already rejected nutjob judges look almost quaint (not that it is).

What is truly, truly amazing about the Rs is that they not only have a suitcase full of wedge issues ready to go, but that they can stop and turn on a dime and manufacture one out of thin air in about 5 minutes. The MSM has already given them carte blanche to run this story into the ground, and believe me, they will do it. I give them 3 days before Clinton's blow job becomes a part of the Schiavo narrative.

In the meanwhile, Americans continue their sonnambulistic lack of awareness as their republic is kicked in the groin and the Constitution is shredded. Here we have the Congress knocking down the Supreme Court, a Court run by Rs! We have reached the point of one-party rule and are verging on dictatorship and possibly anarchy. The public continues to feed on celebrity pap while their very livelihoods and their nation are sold to the highest bidder.

You might call me alarmist, but put yourself back into 2000 mode and tell me if you would have thought our country would have disintegrated this quickly under *any* possible scenario.

I am at the point where I absolutely hate bush and republicans. That hatred extends to people I know around town. I'm cutting them out of my social existence. I suffer no support of bush or attacks on liberals - I respond in kind and do not hold back. If it costs me a "friendship," I say fuck the friendship, it isn't worth it.

I am living in a divided country where I am estranged from most of my immediate family due to their fundy Xtian bullshit. I find friendship and solace in like-minded people. I do not seek out common ground or contrary opinions. Believe me. I *know* that this is NOT the way it is supposed to be, and I get angry with myself for descending to that level. But goddammit, that's where bush and his minions have pushed me! At least I have the self-awareness to recognize what's happening.

How is today's atmosphere any different from the atmosphere that tore this country apart during the Civil War? Hell, it's even breaking down along the same geographic lines!

We're in deep shit here, and with the coming economic implosion, I don't believe our nation is going to make it as a single entity.

OK, rant over.

2. Simpler... muddy the waters of EVERY ISSUE until you can claim there
are no facts, only opinions.

Then shout the loudest.

4. Fox's version of America is so ugly and distorted as to be unsustainable.
Our next choice as citizens may soon be , civil war or world war.

5. You are sowing the seeds of secession.
And that's a topic which should receive more serious attention. We have to get beyond the axiom that "it cant be done and is unthinkable." Let's face it - the UNITED states is no longer united (unfortunately). The Neocons have trashed the constitution beyond recognition (a big step taken today with the "Schaivo bill)."
Why not set up exploratory secession committees? I would love to live in a new country from Minnesota to Delaware where we can once again be free. And the best part is: The fundie south would let us go in a heartbeat: Bush can be king for the next 50 years. No need for elections: Falwell and Dobson can decide all "court" cases. The Bible can replace the bill of rights. Blacks can be reinslaved. Gays can be put to death - even juveniles, since executions for ALL will help reduce their population explosion from California righties moving to Texas. Meanwhile, a wealthy and "new America" (with a media free from government control) and allied with progressive Canada can become the worlds most respected country. Amen.

12. Sounds like a plan! We'd have to move a lot of our people out of the
red states.

14. All Blue people would be welcome in Northern America.
Red people would be given a generous time period in which to get on board or get out.

6. Tell It The Way It Is
Many people feel as you do, and I do to. I wish I could control it better but can't. I am getting where I just snap and let it go, friend be damed, I don't care any more.

7. I'm very, very close to where you are; at my age, I can say what I want
to say and I don't give a damn if I lose any friendships over it. The celebrity worship is a big problem and the government is run by religious nuts. Propaganda is full blown. This Shiavo case is their glory. Economics? The rest of the world owns us. All we have are guns and bombs. When they run out, its over for 'murica.

8. I believe civil war is inevitable at the rate we're going.
I can remember when D's and R's were just two political parties that differed on a couple of issues. Now, everything with the R's is "a war". The "culture war", the "war on terror", the "war on drugs".
The Radical Right believes that they have all the answers, and everyone who disagrees is wrong, including fellow R's.
This can all be attributed to that piece of crap Reagan, and that bigger piece of crap Gingrich, and their followers. I'm not only extremely angry about what these fuck wads have done/are doing to our nation, but I'm mad that this has come so close to so many. I have lost relationships with friends and relatives specifically because of this bullshit, and I'm mad as hell about it, and I'm NOT going to get over it. I hear similar stories from others. I am 45 years old, and I have been watching this country go to hell for at least 20 of those years. Hell, even Clinton, who I admired, fucking LIED TO US ON TV.
I believe we have a huge chance here, people. With folks like Howard Dean in leadership roles we can COMPLETELY RE-VAMP the Democratic Party. I once dreamed of a multi-party system, but the old dogs have put a damper on that. We can take the Democratic Party, clean out the dead wood, such as Lieberman and others like him, and make it grow. If those who have been fooled by the Radical Right can be shown how they were taken advantage of, they will join us or just stay out of the system. Either way, it will help destroy the Radical Right, which is destroying America.

15. the British new that hierarchical tribes were easier to rule as colonies
and squabbles kept people too busy to know they were not looking at the big picture things (elite rule). You cannot see the big picture if you are cut into tiny groups who have no empathy for the 'other'. You cannot see the big picture if you are goated into renewed adolescence where you are not responsible for the pain your actions cause.

The British called it Indirect Rule and they were masters of a third of the World for a time.. using it. Then people started to put their heads up and vote a big groups.

No difference here. The WH wants people closest emotional ties to be to narrow groups.. not to mankind as a whole.

16. The rightwing
Its not just the neo-con nuts, there are too many so called progressives that give aide and comfort to the real enemy of our country, the 1% that owns the media, the congress, the white house and the very air we breathe, what we need is a war,not a hot war but the one most of the rich fear most,a class war, relieve the top 10% of the wealth in this country and give it to the needy.Get rid of every congressperson, get rid of that unelected fraud in the oval office and start anew.Sound too simple?,well maybe we need some simple solutions to the mess that the brainey ones got us into.
