ABC admits receipt of "talking points" re Schiavo

Among them, that it is an important moral issue and the "pro-life base will be excited," and that it is a "great political issue — this is a tough issue for Democrats."

When asked about these talking points on "Good Morning America," DeLay said, "I don't know where those talking points come from, and I think they're disgusting."

In this case, the Republican's political wrangling in the Schiavo case does not seem to reflect the majority of American's opinions.

I think it is HUGE that ABC is reporting on the "process." Could it be related to the "media & secrecy" conferences that were on C-Span last week?

I also think the remark that the base will be "excited" and that the story is a "great political issue" shows the repub's real agenda here.

6. I was watching this morning when Delay said that. The news lady

responded "the Republicans" when Delay claimed to not know where the talking points came from. Delay pointedly ignored that, and she didn't press it further.

I am so sick of this woman's tragic undoing being used as a political football. Let the family fight it out. The GOP is building this story up to a fever pitch precisely to draw attention away from Wolfowitz and Bolton's nominations, Delay's ethics investigations, the move to begin drilling in Alaska, the President's failing social security agenda and other bad news for them.
