1. IT's out
and the repukes are working overtime at the federal (gasp) level to enact immediate legislation (that not only applies to Terri, but to all of us) that will make it illegal to stop feedings.
This is getting very ugly.
:scared:

2. It's out, but DeLay has vowed he will get Congress to enact legislation
to force it back in.

3. Spread the rumor she voted for Clinton
Then maybe the hypocritical right will let her brain dead body die at long last. I understand her cortex is non-existent. There can be no hope for any kind of recovery.

9. They wouldn't let that stop them
They'd say she was so grateful for them saving her that she's converted to being a republican. :eyes:

5. Since the tract is already shut and healing
Another tube will mean another surgery, and the people on her side will have to hope she dies on the table.

Forcing extraordinary medical care on anyone is the real issue here, and countermanding family wishes in order to do it. It's going to put the medical profession into a horrible position when it comes to instituting lifesaving measures in hope a person will heal, since the risk of keeping them in a multi decade vegetative state will be a significant one. Hospice workers will be especially vulnerable to this garbage, and even durable powers of attorney for healthcare decisions won't save people from interference if some family member comes out of the woodwork and wants heroics.

This is unbelievably awful.

4. if i'm going to have to pray
it will be for that poor woman's quiet and peaceful demise. Hopefully with those that love her the most nearby.
It's going to hurt alot for them for a long while.

Esp. with the uproar and pandering and posturing of the so called 'compassionate' wing drawing attention to themselves
(for it is not Terry S. they want attention given).

let go lady. head for the light.
it's a better place now.

nite all.

6. I don't think their are any more avenues for them to take. It should stay
out. The congress would have to pass some new law real quick and the chances of the Senate agreeing on how far it goes would be difficult to do. I think the fact that they just want on Spring Break is bad news for the Repubs. They will rant and rave and make a lot of noise for their base but in the end they know nothing will happen. It's all just political theater right now.

10. my grandmother starved to death.
their was no tube. she just quit eating. she probably died of the electolyte imbalance the lawyers say terri will get.

the hospice people came and helped us through the whole thing. toward the end, she totally lost her appetite. wouldn't eat, and got mad as hell at us for asking.

She had an official living will, which I am sure Terri didn't have. Someone just offered Michael Schiavo ten million dollars to relinquish guardianship, after the million they offered him last week.
