Last nights NBC News Story on Iraq
there was a story last night on the nbc news regarding iraq's booming economy. in the story they showed people out in the streets buys lots of tv's and the iraq stock market. the interesting thing was that they showed close ups of someone pulling out big wads of american money to buy things! does this mean we are artificial buoying up their economy or another bush made for tv newsstory?

1. I saw that too
My immediate reaction was "is this pre-packaged news from the Bush administration?"

3. The reporters most likely gave them money to spend
so they could tape them for the nightly news.

4. PRI (PBS radio) also had a "happy ending" Iraq War story last night.

That one was a feature on how wonderful today's high-tech artificial limbs are. It described the compassionate care all those US amputees are getting.

War propaganda just doesn't get any better than that.

Don't worry.

:) :) Be happy.

6. smiling, perky amputees
I keep reading about horribly injured USA soldiers back from Iraq saying that they are happy they served and that they feel that their lives are better for it.

Gawd. It's as if the propaganda is a spore infecting the brain, like mad cow disease or something.

I thought SARSII was bad enough. Even Katty Kay got it. (Smirking American Rahrah Syndrome)

But this business of wounded vets is worse than that....

With a few exceptions (see above), their hearts just aren't in it this time. The pros can do great work, when they want to.
