merely gleaned the best and most thoughtful ideas from some of these and lumped it all together to form THE religion. And it became the official religion of the known world under Constantine and people DID believe it, under penalty of death or banishment, mind you. So there you have it. Our ONE, TRUE religion that had nothing to do with those other "heathen" religions, so stop saying that.

It's a perfect "The Life of Brian" scenario. Monty Python had a knack for hitting the nail directly on the head.

6. If you think that's interesting, check into Odin
the Norse god who came to earth and hung himself from the "World Tree" for nine days (during which he was stabbed in the side with a spear).

Hmmmm, I wonder if any other story could have had it's origins with that.
