Is there any point in calling ultraconservative Congresspeople?
Does anyone know if there is any point in contacting highly conservative Congresspeople?

My senators are Talent and Bond, and my representative is Todd Akin. All are very conservative. Is there any point in voicing my opposition to various pieces of legislation to them?

1. No
I've tried again and again. I get polite form letters back and condescending remarks on the phone.

2. Lie and tell them
That you're the minister of the New Manna Baptist Church or something to that effect.

3. Don't know
but I'm calling Nussle's office in a few minutes. He's about as conservative as there is.

5. I don't bother.
Both my senators and my congressman are W's pals. My congressman is so conservative he makes W look liberal. Why waste my time?

6. When I contact them
I always say that I'm a life long republican and that their actions are forcing me to vote otherwise because I'm so embarrassed by their actions. Using the 'V' word strikes fear in their hearts.

8. Talent and Bond here also.
No I would say there is no point. I recently wrote Talent, Bond and Graves(my rep) about SS. Graves responded with the same blah blah. Talent sent out a bunch of RW talking points, you know bankrupt in 2018 etc, and lmao Bond didn't even bother to reply.

9. Yes, there is a point.
These people work by the numbers, the polls. They cannot think by themselves, they hire consultants to give them the numbers and they believe the numbers represent their constituents. They are so conditioned to follow the polls that they don't realize that the polls can be slanted as needed.

If we call our congress critters, even the repuke conservative neo-cons, they will pay attention if they get 500 calls against legislation and 0 calls for the legislation if the calls come from their constituents!

They get their money from the corporations, bu their votes from us!

We made them pay attention in January and we got them to debate the voter fraud and Boxer stood with Conyers, we can make them hear us today.

Don't let anyone tell you trying is useless. Those that tell you that are misguided or lazy. They would rather complain than take the action to be heard!

10. If they are in your state
yes. I get blown off by other state's offices. I get a little courtesy when I evoke my concern for a chairmanship or the positions of the majority leaders. But, if these shills are in your state, you have a responsibility to make certain your voice is heard.
