Outrageous Newsweek piece by George Will.
The latest issue of the magazine. He discusses the Count Every Vote Act.What he trys to imply is that the Democrats want every felon to vote.I think that what the Democrats want more then anything is a paper trail.Which he never mentions. He makes an amazing claim that Enron executives are Democrats,or at least if they were to vote, they would vote Democrat. He also takes a swing at H. Dean and what he calls other crazies regarding Iraq. Newsweek can kiss my subscription goodbye.

7. In the meantime, I heard on Air America Radio today on
Morning Sedition, that Robert Marguilies has written an article about Robert Novak in Vanity Fair, which makes Mark Maron say, "Your article makes me LIKE him." The article, according to Maron, "humanizes" Novak...looks like AAR is moving rightwing also.

Vanity Fair used to really give the lowdown on those rightwing nuts, but with THIS article...well, it is becoming easier and easier to be "bought off" by the rightwing.

11. I hate to see AAR be as ridiculous as Rush or Hanitty
the other way, but damnit, maybe that's what it takes. Why can't we all just be reasonable in discussing issues? That's what I want to know.

15. OK, flygirl...on your word about the Cheney piece
I will go ahead and buy this month's issue (newstand - no subscription so I don't have to buy any issue that I do not want).

Originally, after I heard about the Novak "humanizing" piece I was ready to puke.

17. Save yourself the price. There's this wonderful institution called
'the Public Library'. You can read the article there for free. Kind of like shareware, but on paper.

8. He just got $250,000 from an organization with conservative ties
Edited on Tue Mar-15-05 11:41 AM by caligirl

NEW YORK When the conservative Bradley Foundation awarded a $250,000 prize to George Will last week, it raised some eyebrows at a time when Armstrong Williams, Maggie Gallagher, and Michael McManus have been criticized for accepting government money.

The foundation is a private entity, but it is reported to have ties to the Bush administration, and its president/CEO is a former Republican National Committee member.

The Bradley Foundation set up William Kristol and the PNAC. No doubt about it...EVIL lurks in Milwaukee.

9. I suppose that's why Enron donated so heavily to bush
I always donate the max amount to republicans and then vote democrat :eyes: Geaorge Will is ridiculous. I can't stand people who are so partisan that one party has never done anything right in the history of the country and the other party has never done anything wrong.

19. I like reading george will.
Aside from the fact that I disagree with everything he stands for, he has a good eye for detail and he is willing to point out Democratic hipocracy when it appears. I have not read the article you describe, but if it is classic George Will, I will want to punch him when I'm done. But then after a while I will start to think about what he has to say and I will realize that we are either off on the policy, or more likely, off on how we are selling the policy.

Will is not a religious nut job but a true conservative. We don't get to hear much from this side of the argument anymore. I don't agree with what he writes, but we should be aware of the fact that he is able to articulate how many people view our party.

20. So where is the balance in the Will piece?
I mean the corrupt conservatives love to bitch about bias... well we have it here. Where is the counterpoint to this slander by Will? I read this on flight on Saturday and my reaction was FUCK NEWSWEEK! Not one more dime of mine will go the that rag as long as they have him on it.
