Anti-tremor mouse stops PC shakes
BBC

A special adaptor that helps people with hand tremors control a computer mouse more easily has been developed.

The device uses similar "steady cam" technology found in camcorders to filter out shaking hand movements.

People with hand tremors find it hard to use conventional mice for simple computer tasks because of the erratic movements of the cursor on the screen.

About three million Britons have some sort of hand tremor condition, said the UK National Tremor Foundation.

2. Simpler no-cost alternative: Use vestigial keyboard shortcuts
Windows has been around since the 80s, before the average PC user even had access to a mouse. Many of the keyboard functions that made a mouse unnecessary or optional still work in Windows XP, just as they did in Windows 1.x, 3.x, 95, 98, and ME.

It's not just the disabled who find using a mouse cumbersome. TABbing to the next menu item is quicker and more accurate than rolling a mouse around for just about anybody. And TAB is just one of dozens of keyboard alternatives to using a mouse.

The most comprehensive collection I've seen of vestigial Windows keyboard alternatives is at http://www.pcworld.com/howto/article/1,aid,109712,00.asp
