Does your courthouse allow guards to carry guns?

Poll question: Does your courthouse allow guards to carry guns?

I have never heard of a courthouse shooting (inside) that was not a result of the prisoner getting a guards gun. A google search reveals most shootings happen outside, but no-one ever gets their OWN gun inside.

Apparently there are different rules in each county.

So I'm wondering... Why the hell do we allow firearms in Courthouses at all?

4. I haven't been to court room in a long time, but

if I remember correctly, they weren't carrying guns, only batons. I also noticed that the prison guards don't carry guns either. (We used to run into guarded prisoners at the dialysis clinic.) However, when the prisoners are working in the ditches along our rural roads here, there is a guy off at a safe distance with a rifle.
