The Nashua Advocate: The Plot Thickens in New G.O.P. Propaganda Scandal
Read the new article in The Nashua Advocate here. This article is a follow-up to our last article, here.

Folks, this could be every bit as big a part of Gannongate as anything else. And right now, you can only read about it at The Nashua Advocate.

An excerpt:

Meet the New Boss, Same as the Old Boss: Brent Bozell Supplants Jeff Gannon As Man Most Likely to Be Accused of Involvement in Bush Propaganda Scheme

By ADVOCATE STAFF

In 1996, Brent Bozell founded the Conservative Communications Center, or "C3."

In 1998, Brent Bozell founded the current news service for GOPUSA.com, Cybercast News Service (CNS).

At the time Bozell founded C3 in 1996, he was the Chairman (and indeed founder) of The Media Research Center, a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

.....

The purpose of Brent Bozell's C3 Applied Public Relations School is to "provide the conservative movement with the...vehicles to deliver their vision...to the American people."

Would those "vehicles" for the conservative movement include, say, Talon News? Or perhaps the newest news service client of GOPUSA, Cybercast News Service? Does "deliver the[] vision" make any room for the IRS requirement of a "sufficiently full and fair exposition of pertinent facts to permit an individual or the public to form an independent opinion or conclusion"?

We wonder.

19. new england continues to have moderate republicans
It is a tradition that goes back to the abolitionist roots of the republican party. They are however a dying breed. NH's Republican Party is firmly in control of the house and senate seats, and they run the legislature, but they can't hold the governor post reliably any more and the presidential elections are a toss up. The state is in transition, and with a few good state-wide candidates and a Democratic Party willing, on the national level, to take on the class issues link SS, bankruptcy etc. things could change here rather quickly.

6. So how can we determine if Bozell (and Novak for that matter) are NOC ?
Edited on Fri Mar-11-05 06:36 PM by EVDebs
Operating as journalists for CIA or PsyOps under non-official-cover ?

Propagandists or disinformationists receiving payment by taxpayer dollars isn't something the taxpayers or Congress should tolerate. How can we investigate this ? GAO is only guy out there right now. Until reinforcements arrive in '06 and '08 we're going to just have to SPECULATE by their actions, not their words ?

Who vets our media in the first place ? Oh, the rich guys that own the media, I forgot.

12. The "Faith Based" in the country by definition can't see what's going on.
Facts are irrelevent to them. They "like" Bush, or they believe he is trying to do the right thing. It's not possible to reason with them...The neocons need to fuck up in some way that will be emotionally repugnant to these people. And that's already happened in numerous ways, but hasn't gotten through yet.

15. I know of but 2 - thank God!
But both, not knowing one another and both living far apart (different worlds, literally) think the same way.

Honestly, it's as if the minute Nov 3rd hit, they become intranced within this holy anger. I no longer knew them. They were angry, and there I was saying to both seperately... "What are you mad about, you're man won?"

Mind you, this was long before I ever heard of the book "Sore Losers," or even this board. I tried calling of them. No. Blaming everything on doom, gloom and Clinton, yet when I questioned her on Bush her response was "I can not judge."

I hung-up. Blocked her number. She drank from the Kool aid. Both did. And they are angry, depressed and you know what... I wonder why (yeah) I wonder why.

14. This from the CNSNews website
at http://www.cnsnews.com/corporate/history.asp

<StartQuote>
Study after study by the Media Research Center, the parent organization of CNSNews.com, clearly demonstrate a liberal bias in many news outlets – bias by commission and bias by omission – that results in a frequent double-standard in editorial decisions on what constitutes "news."

In response to these shortcomings, MRC Chairman L. Brent Bozell III founded CNSNews.com in an effort to provide an alternative news source that would cover stories that are subject to the bias of omission and report on other news subject to bias by commission.

CNSNews.com endeavors to fairly present all legitimate sides of a story and debunk popular, albeit incorrect, myths about cultural and policy issues.
<EndQuote>

Now, how can the Media Research Center be non-profit when it is busy finding "a liberal bias in many news outlets - bias by commission and bias by omission" in "study after study"? Furthermore, how can the non-profit MRC be the parent organization of CNSNews.com, when it's mission is to "cover stories that are subject to the bias of omission", which I assume is the liberal bias "found" by the MRC?

The MRC should clearly lose its non-profit status, if not in and of itself, then by its controlling of CNSNews.

18. It all makes sense now.
I Google "Jeff Gannon" every day just to see if it's staying in the news. The other day I was getting inundated with the "Liberal Blogger" article, and I was actually falling for it. Thank you for pointing out the lies behind it all.

20. Brent Bozell is also the man behind the
Parents Television Council, the group who makes 99.8% of the complaints to the FCC. If you have some free time, try googling his name and Rev. Moon. Oh, the places you'll go.

another big :kick:

Edited to add: Bozell is to me one of the slimiest characters on the right -- and that's saying something 'cause there is no dearth of slimy characters over there. He's also permanently angry -- REALLY angry, road-rage angry.
