judge killings - Bush and repugs to blame... Here's why
For years, they have demeaned judges by calling them "activists" and the source of all our "moral" problems. They have done an end around to avoid justice via the courts whenever they wanted to do something they knew was illegal - ie torture.

They demean the judiciary with picks of partisan hacks for the highest courts in the land.

The cumulative effect on the poplulace is to take justice off its previous pedestal and make judges marks for the disaffected more than any time in our history.

Why should anyone have any respect for the judiciary (or any law for that matter) after what they have done and continue to do?

1. that is true
but I've also seen attacks from the left - people who assume the justice system is corrupt or whatever.

2. The judge came to the bench in 1998, fwiw
I have a simpler idea. Blame the guy who commandeered the gun, shot the people in cold blood, beat up the reporter, hijacked the car, and made his escape. Something tells me he wasn't thinking much about * during that escapade.

Politics is not a universal explanation for everything, imo. By the news accounts, this guy was a nasty specimen long before the killings.

Peace.

3. Maybe yes, maybe no...what are the motivations of the persons
...involved in the recent killings of judges? We have just heard of the judge who was shot in Atlanta this morning and the judges family in Chicago last week. What are judges have been assaulted, killed or threatened in the last four years and how does that compare to such activities against judges in the past?

I agree that the republican rhetoric has inflamed passions and has caused this nation to be divided and angry, but again, who has been pushed over the edge to commit murder who might otherwise have handled such situations in a more controlled manner?

4. I would be interested to find out if all the 'judge' murderers are repukes
I think not. Though I know Bush attracts 'sickos' with his bully party... judges have always been in danger of attack.
