Auto Zone store as their truck driver. Years ago there was a Dupont Cellophane plant in Clinton that closed down. I was working for Olin cellophane in Indiana and a group of us went to Clinton and stayed for two weeks stripping machinery and trucking it to Indiana.

where I bought bologna and sausage tubes, I can't remember the name of the place. They had the best tasting sausage and bologna I ever ate. Wished I had some right now with colby cheese and crackers, hmmm hmmm good.

There's not to many places in Iowa I haven't been. I delivered to every Auto Zone store in the entire state of Iowa over a period of 6 years.

i am a sucker for historic cities. big reason why i love chi. and nyc.
but galena is more than that. the geology, and biology of the place is staggering. had a fabulous time at the b&b, and gained a pinkobuttons retailer in stone house pottery. i know a couple of other artists out that way. i'm so hooked.
hubby and i have been looking for a couple of acres somewhere, just to park our trailer, and get away. and we are really looking to get something near there.

Lots of big money houses dot the local scenery now. The CITY is still the same though. (Thank Goodness)

You could look around Savanna for campsites. Or check out the Iowa side, Sabula area. Way to pricey if you get close to Galena.

just visit. ski school might require that i plan to ever attempt to ski, something i am reliably informed could cause grievous bodily harm.

i might become serious about the wind farm, tho. the hubby is talking about leaving his job to consult. we would put part of the 401k into something that would give us a small income base. a wind farm would be something that we could do with a clean conscience. plus, we could probably park that trailer on it somewhere.

I spoke to Emily Colvin and her dad this evening. They are really glad everyone had been pulling behind them and turning up great evidence. Their lawyer is almost certain they will get the charges dropped.

The pressure we have been putting on the local establishment seems to be working. The Police Chief was forced to respond in the papers to allegations of inappropriate police conduct. Of course he tried to blame the whole thing on the deplorable conduct of the protesters. He says he is trying to get the police tapes which will show they behaved professionally.

I'd guess that if those tapes existed, the police chief would have them in hand and if they really were exculpatory for the police he'd be showing them all over town. I think is is pure PR!

My sister, several other protesters, several DUers and I have written to a wide range of folks on this issue from the local media to the Mayor and Town Council.

Now is one chance to make them think twice about pulling this nonsense. We have the tapes and the witnesses. They were way out of line and we will prove it.
