How many people were creating and leading a one-person campaign, years before the election, which carefully and passionately informed the nation of the screaming dangers of Black Box Voting?

As the very probable target of teams of well-funded and highly-trained psych-ops agents (private or not), if poor Ms. Harris has broken under the strain, she needs our love, understanding, support, and admiration.

Also, please remember, if she is a pysch-ops target, we can't be sure that anything we read in her name has actually been written by her, and that anything she reads may have also been distorted by professionals, to flare up controversies and personal differences, divide and conquer.

It's our patriotic duty to save the Constitution, preserve our Democracy, and our Republic; and remember all heroes have feet of clay.

The work she's already done on Black Box Voting deserves all three of the medals of honor ripped from the chests of Bremer, Tenet, and Franks

I don't quite know why, but I'm finding all the "I always knew Bev was a crook!" posts to be very irritating. It's probably some matter of my own pride since a few of my own BBV posts were written under a tight tinfoil hat.

But there were quite a few folks here on DU who steadfastly disputed some of Bev's outrageous claims in a straightforward manner, who held their ground, and did not self-destruct or get themselves tombstoned by roving bands of hair-trigger Bev sycophants.

Bev Harris is not the devil, and she is certainly not the helpless victim of any greater conspiracy.

If you want to do something constructive about this issue, you really don't need a leader. Get off your democratic ass and find out how the elections in your own community really work. A lot of you will be very shocked how sloppy and insecure your local election system is.

And yes, there are unethical people all over the place taking advantage of this situation.

she needs to let the people who contributed to her see her ledgers and quarterly balance sheets. These people, like stock holders, deserve to know where their money went. As a non-profit corporation, I think legally, such an accounting can be demanded through the courts, if Bev is unwilling to open her books and provide the transparency that people are demanding. If she can't do that, then she will continue to look like the grifter that people think she is.

However, until Bev Harris can provide something like this or even a contributions and administrative expenses statement, which would be part of the balance sheet, I don't think Ms. Harris can defend herself against charges of running a confidence game.

On edit: Also, she should be filing a Form 990 with the Internal Revenue Service, which is standard for non-profits. The few charities I contribute to publish their Form 990's on their websites for all to see. This has all the balance sheet information on it. Most legitimate non-profit corporations have no problem making this public.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist. As a matter of fact, I've been accused of being a FReeper or a DLC member or whatever, so I don't take accusations like that lightly. I'm not going to make an accusation here, because it isn't warranted, but if I were to put myself in the shoes of a conspiracy theorist, if I were going to take that role, then I'd probably think that Bev Harris is closer to what I'd think of a COINTELPRO agent than the people criticizing her. I'm not saying she is, just that it's ironic that if someone was going to make accusations and be paranoid, I would think that she would fit the profile of someone disrupting a movement better than all these other people who are just complaining about things she did pretty much out in the open.
