1. My response isn't offered
Pledge should only be said by those who want to when they want to and never forced on anyone anytime anywhere.

The United States is the only country (besides the Phillipines) to have a pledge. The Phillipines only has it because they were copying the U.S, and I don't really know if it's done in their schools like it's done here.

2. if even _that_...
It's jingoistic theocratic dogma, and is the first step in preparing our kids for life in a Fascist state.

3. Saying the Pledge in English is disrespectful.
It should be recited in a Native American language.

4. What a dumb survey, why doesn't MSNBC ask about real issues
...that are important to our country like:

How hypocritical is it that phony patriots like republican politicians and President George Bush of the United States speak of bringing freedom to oppressed countries of the world, while they shred the constitution of the United States taking the individual freedoms away from Americans?

1. Very hypocritical
2. Somewhat hypocritical
3. Neither hypocritical or unhypocritical
4. Somewhat unhypocritical
5. Very unhypocritical

8. The way things are going, it should be said in German.
With a couple of "Sieg Heils" to Der Fuhrer wannabee.

What do you expect from the Mainstream Media Douchebags?

Pledgumleegence, BFD.
So what, they used to think that a COMMUNIST could not say the pledge, because his tongue would explode or something if he tried to say the words "Under Gawd", and that's why they put that in there.

Any dumb-fuck Legislator or school Administrator who thinks The Pledge has any relevance in this world needs to read Chapter 11 of "Catch-22" and KEEP reading it until it sinks in.

Me pledgumleegence to the check-out stand,
of the United States of Walmart.
And to the Theocracy which it will become.
Low Prices, Every Day,(ALWAYS!)
With "I support the Troops" "ribbon" magnets for everyone!

11. I dislike the pledge, but if anyone's curious, here is it in Spanish
Edited on Thu Mar-10-05 04:30 PM by Stop_the_War
Yo prometo lealtad a la bandera
de los Estados Unidos de America,
y a la Republica que representa,
una Nacion,
entera,
con libertad y justicia para todos.

I removed the "under God" part which would be in Spanish "bajo Dios".

Personally I don't think there should be a pledge at all IMHO.
