video of Dubya drunk in 1992
I know this has apparently been floating out there for a while, but I had never seen it until today. maybe it's fresh for some of you.

So much for giving up the booze in 1986 when he found Jesus. Frickin' liar.

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/graphics/packageart/bush/bush_tsg.mov

"The video was shot at the August 29, 1992 wedding of Jamie Weiss, the daughter of Dubya's close friends Mike and Nancy Weiss. Mike, a Lubbock, Texas lawyer and CPA, was Bush's campaign chairman during his first political race (an unsuccessful 1978 congressional bid) and was one of the Texas governor's earliest political appointments. Nancy, also a Bush appointee, had a prime speaking slot on the final night of the Republican convention."

1. You didn't know he was a liar who didn't give up before?

2. Old bush*t. Who would respect him after that?
... other than other 'fallin' off the wagon' R/W religious Zealots/Wackos.

3. I think I saw him claiming somewhere that he hadn't had a drop since
the big quit. It is normal for some alcoholics to start drinking mildly again - periodically. Some people get into emotional crisis and drink for that reason (trauma, victim of crime, etc). But I didn't think someone who had been an addict for 20 years was addicted to cocaine is supposed to have a drop of anything again?

What do you all think?

10. His brain has been scarred.
It would probably be better for the world if he went on a 3 year bender. He might go missing and leave everything alone !

4. Bush could get shit-faced, dance naked across the White House lawn . . .
with an equally naked Karl Rove in tow and take a dump in the Rose Garden while singing "God Bless the USA", and wingers would still support him . . .

6. Yup...
They'd turn his dump in the rose garden, into some kind of saintly act.

They'd gather teary-eyed around the roses, weeping with admiration for their loving, unselfish president who donated his own waste to fertilize those beautiful roses.

...I thought he found Jebus in 1985, during his moonlit walk on the beach with Billy Graham? Supposedly, that talk catalyzed *'s new-found sobriety.

Guess not!

Another interesting tidbit... Frontline aired a special on * last October. The program revealed that BushSr asked * to help campaign in Iowa, during the 88 primary--because Pat Robertson was leading in the Iowa polls and snagging large numbers of evangelical votes.

Frontline interviewed a friend of *'s. I don't think this friend realized the significance of what he was saying as he described *'s reaction to the Iowa evangelicals who were mesmerized by *'s speeches about Christian values. *'s friend quoted a salivating * as saying, "Ohmygosh...I could do this in Texas! I could do this in Texas!"

During the following year, * appeared repeatedly on local, Texas evangelical shows and talked about the critical role Christian values played in his politics. He won the governor race in '94--largely by campaigning on this fundie stuff.

So....we're supposed to believe that he was Mr. God boy in 1985 and culling votes for his daddy in 1988 using religion--but he was still a raging drunk in 1992?

14. we keep looking for the thing that will bring him down...
We keep hoping that one outrage or another is going to FINALLY wake America up from its fever dream. Lying about WMD? Apparently not. Lying about not knowing that a bin Laden strike in the US was a clear and present danger? Apparently not. Fixing the election(s)? Apparently not. A White House press corps(e) stacked with GOP stooges? Apparently not. Lying about smoking pot? Apparently not.

These are just the lies off the top of my (weary and brain-fogged) head.

So all these outrages...little and big... we keep thinking ONE damn thing or another has got to be the one that will outrage everyone else. I don't think it's going to happen. I don't think he's going anywhere any time soon.

15. as an addendum to my post...
Just now I did a shameful thing. I changed what I wrote. I originally wanted to use the phrase "we keep looking for the magic bullet," but it suddenly struck me that such a post could eventually be used against me in a court of law(lessness). That it could somehow eventually be construed as a threat.

Paranoid, yes. Prudent? maybe. And that's the sad thing.
