How Many on the Left Here...
have a yellow ribbon or American flag on their cars?

I see yellow ribbons and American flags on all these vehicles and can't help thinking they are owned by Bush Supporters.

3. I asked about this several months ago and many on this board
said they had the yellow ones, too. Someone even posted a photo of his car with Kerry/Edwards AND the yellow ribbon.

But I know where you are coming from. Still wonder about the majority of them

4. I do, sort of...
Though I've been in college and not driving, for Christmas I got a magnet with a bald eagle with the American flag behind it, in the shape of a ribbon. I am by far not a Bush supporter, but I am a supporter of our troops (NOT the war, of course). It's a nice gesture, I suppose.

5. I don't -- It just seems too republican. I wish there was a flag
to represent our country PRE-BUSH !!

11. Great idea ! It just flashed through my mind for some reason
thinking about Iraq. When we took over Baghdad, there were all those people jumping up and down waving Iraqi flags. Someone figured out that (1) no one knew them in that neighborhood and (2) the flags they were waving were old and they had been redesigned. So, bottom line, they were plants. Can you believe the deception? Of course - nothing is surprising anymore. (was that story in Fahrenheit 9/11?)

I like the peace dove with the American flag super-imposed on it. Do they still make those?

15. Good Question
One: It was in Fahrenheit 911, Two: "American flag super-imposed on it...", I don't know.

The Dove is a very strong image for those on the left, right and the religious. This may be the "icon" to incorporate into my design.

A New Patriotism
Why I Don’t Fly Old Glory
- Valerie Weaver-Zercher
Never has the American flag been as chic as in the months following September 11. Like acorns that pile up in the fall, flags seem to be dropping from the sky and landing everywhere: from flower boxes and sofa covers to roadwork signs and my neighbor’s pants. “These colors don’t run,” proclaim T-shirts, with flags rippling across their fronts.

16. I found one
in a head-shop in Madison Wisconsin. It is an American flag with the word THINK in the blue field and the words "It's American" under the flag. I get some good comments on it.

6. I took mine off when Kerry lost. I supported our troops through his
candidacy. I was hoping to bring them all home soon.

Bush's *re*election obliterated all hope for those who are pawns in the Iraqi "theater".

9. *puzzled look* So now you no longer support them?
I have both, but the reasoning is obvious.

10. Not that it matters.... but several weeks ago.. I was behind a car with
the fish thingy and the yeller ribbon. Down went the window and more than a modicum of trash exited out. I couldn't believe what I was seeing... incredible. Love this country so much, support our troops and crap on it at the same time. Oh the humanity.

22. I have a yellow ribbon magnet on my car that says,
Support our troops, bring them home now! (and it also has a peace sign in the corner)

My Kerry-Edwards sticker is still intact, and I still sport a Maria Parra sticker. Bless her heart, she had the gumption to run against Souder in my district.
