Have you ever seen one of them crack?

1. I've often wondered that myself.

2. Sometimes, they look a bit bemused.
I must say that I don't know how they do it. I love all of the hosts. I heard one of them (guy, light brown hair, not crooked smile guy) say (with a totally straight face) "hotmilitarystud.com." I bet that they're good poker players.

3. Brian Was Trolling For Repugnicans Again
I've seen them crack regularly. It might not be on their faces, just on the stories they select to have listeners comment on and the way they handle the calls.

Any nutcase that wants to cut down Democrats gets all the time they'd like to spread their bile, while if someone dares to really take this regime to the task, the host almost will always cut them short and/or make them justify their position.

The myth is C-SPAN is unbiased as they fill their hours with lots of political programming, but Washington Journal has always been Brian's little right wing treehouse...regularly featuring his friends from the American Enterprise Insititute and rarely ever challenged by a Democrat or Independent.

Also, C-SPAN relies on funding from the cable companies...thus they serve their corporate masters first before the "public".

4. I see it exactly as you do
You would think AEI ruled the world.
A few days ago a person dared to mention the melting points of the steel in the towers and the temp. at which the fuel burns- reaching for the button- caller did get out a question of why building 7 imploded before being hung up.
Mostly they just talk banter around the edges. Any real questions that may reflect poorly on dubby will get left behind and buried quick..

6. Last Week Coultergeist...No "Libruls"...
I don't mind laughing at this poor excuse for cellular structure in a fair forum...she actually has the guts to take it. Last Friday Brian all but gushed about having her on, and it was obvious they were on very friendly terms. They both seem to have a very high esteem for Regenery...since Coultergeist made her fame from their mass buying of her early books and Lamb gets their writers for his various TV treehouses and gets the invites to the best drinkie-drinkie parties.

Last week I wondered when was the last time they had a Molly Ivins, Joe Connason, Gene Lyons, Gene Hightower, Amy Goodman...or any well-respected "librul" writer on. It's been quite a while. Usually, if there's a Democrat it's a fringe Democrat...many from Red states who have the spine of jelly fish.

Cheers!

5. I noticed this morning that Brian Lamb
challenges the Democrat call ins, more than the Republican.
Seldom do any of them give any input or follow up questions, but they seem to be doing more of that lately also.

I don't watch, but listen while in another room, but my husband does watch almost every morning and often laughs his head off. Some caller this morning asserted that Bush's successful trip to Europe was a sign that the apocalypse is about to begin--at that my husband laughed his head off.

8. Some DU'ers have called it RW Friday because Brian only has
Repugs on..when it's "His Day." Also the Chimp winked at Brian at a Media Dinner that was shown on C-Span last weekend. It was a "chummy" wink...like thanks...I know all you do for me."

C-Span in the 80's and 90's used to have two guests with differing viewpoints on Washington Journal and so a caller would get an answer from different points of view. Towards the end of the Clinton Administration they changed it to one guest...usually from a RW Think Tank and the RW callers started taking over the show. They instituted the Repug/Dem/other call in line and the show went to hell. They still have Democrats on but the Conservatives outweigh the Dems and the Dems are really the more conservative.

However I give credit to C-Span for covering all events and their Book Notes is excellent. I just skip Washington Journal these days because of the freaky callers and I avoid "Brian's Fridays."
