I Heard a Malloyism On Chicago Sports Talk Radio Today!
As I'm listening to Malloy's rerun tonight, it reminded me of a moment earlier today when I was listening to WSCR, an AM sports talker in Chicago that actually has a rarity: raw and honest sports talk that rips apart the 'conventional wisdom' of ass-likkin' sports journalists everywhere. Sound familiar?

Anyway, their mid-day show has hosts that I think even liberals would like: Terry Boers and Dan Bernstein. They have been absolutely SCORCHED EARTH on the Barry Bonds revelations this week (and as an aside, how many of you kept thinking of George Bush's blame-everyone-but-me ravings when listening to that 'roided bastard earlier this week?), and as part of their ripping of the American Sports Media for being too deferential towards Barry Bonds, Terry let slip this little nugget directed towards Mr. Clear Cream:

"Have I mentioned yet during this show how much I hate him?"

When they steal your material, you KNOW you're doing well - and you may be worth a listen to boot!

P.S.: Here's hoping for chronic health problems that prevent Barry from breaking Hank Aaron's record ... or a big, fat, honkin' ASTERISK next to his name. Something augmented with an animal hormone, ideally.

1. Ha ha! Awesome!
Malloy is going to be a star, there's no doubt of that. He's simply too talented. Right now he's known to a small minority of people and he has the late slot on AAR, but in time, I think he'll become huge. I don't want to insult him by calling him our Rush Limbaugh, because that's just a nasty thing to say about the man. But I think he has the potential to become just as big as him, if not bigger.

2. Bonds is over blown what about the pitchers?
Bonds is not alone. What about Mark McGuire, Sammy Sosa, Conseco and everyone Conseco has mentioned?

Better still, how many 89mph fastball pitchers are there that now have 97 mph fastballs?? Everyone is always tagging the hitters but you can't tell me there isn't a league full of mediocre pitchers who can now fling the ball 95+ at age 35+. How come all of these young pitchers are having "Tommy John Surgery" before age 30 when the need for it used to be almost nonexistent? Is it injury due to roids?? I'm the biggest Yankee fan there is but should we put an asterisk next to Clemens' career strikeout total? What about the Big Unit? He was sh!t for years then all of a sudden he turned it around for the last 10 years? How many 41 year olds do you know of that can through a 98 mph fastball in the 8th inning of a game he started?

'Roids don't make the bat hit the ball but anyone who can throw the ball 97 mph can get it over the plate to intimidate and make hitters miss. When the league had fewer teams there weren't enough closers and starters to pitch. Now it seems like everyone has an anchor in the bullpen and the starting line up.

4. That's how neocons started on the radio..
they could always count on the mainstream media to steal daily program material.

Anyone know when Mike's coming back?

7. Hi Lincoln!
I started a thread asking where you were. I didn't know Malloy was a repeat tonight.
