Neal Boortz says people on welfare should not vote!
-This is not a direct quote-

While driving into work yesterday morning, I just so happen to turn to 750 WSB in Atlanta, and I heard Neal Boortz's voice. He was talking about welfare and food stamps when he said, people on welfare or received food stamps should net be give the right to vote. He said, people who are in those situations should not be making decisions that is going to effect the country.

Neal Boortz is a sleazy, bald headed wannabe big time talk show host! I cannot believe he would say something like that. But, then again, I can. Did anyone else hear this.

24. So that means the diabled and elderly shouldn't vote
Edited on Wed Feb-23-05 02:31 PM by Kathy in Cambridge
"If a person is not responsible enough to take care of their own wellbeing, they are not responsible enough to vote."

Both groups receive welfare in way way or another.

While your at it, how about the unemployed whose Unemployment Insurance has run out and they must go on welfare to survive?

How about the single mother who works a minimum wage job and receives food stamps and housing assistance in order to provide a decent home for her children?

You would end up with an even smaller electorate making decisions for the majority.

Who are you to judge anyway? :wtf:

I spent about 10 minutes wondering how to reply to this, and you summed it up perfectly.

2. And people who shill for politicians from Pulpits
ought to pay taxes, because their shilling will inevitably lead to alterations in tax policy.

4. A Republican in Libertarian clothing.
Edited on Wed Feb-23-05 11:08 AM by BBradley
He basically pushes the Bush Agenda while occasionally paying lip service to the Libertarian Party Platform. He basically takes the worst ideas from both and becomes the ideological equivalent of the bastard spawn of Satan.

10. He is a "poor mans" version of Rush Limbaugh.
He kisses Hannity's butt any chance he gets. Then, occasionally, he would claim being a Libertarian, just like BBradley said.

20. He's a total whore
used to be a pro-choice Libertarian. Then the powers that be repackaged him as a hate-talker. He's particularly good at using "code words" for his racism and sexism. He's completely materialistic: the best people are the richest people. He's lazy. He doesn't do homework and makes scores of fact errors. (not that his audience notices). He's become more odious over the years since that's what sells to his listening audience of old, cranky white men who live alone. If you told him this afternoon that his new audience is 12-yr. old girls who like boy bands, he'd fall in line and start talking valley-girl and wearing lip gloss.
He's the poor man's Rush Limbaugh. The very old, very white, very lonely, very unhappy poor man.
The good news? His audience is dying off, literally. Another five years and they'll all be gone.

5. Does that apply to corporations as well?
These vile hatemongers rail against the unfortunate poor, but overlook the much greater handouts of tax money to corporations and CEOs.

I hope that evil people such as Boortz find themselves in unfortunate circumstances someday.

People like Boortz are sociopaths. Social darwinists lack a conscience and are not fully human.

6. Why don't we just go back to the old days
The franchise was restricted to white males who own property. I'm sure Mr. Boortz looks pack on that time with nostalgia.

13. let's extend that.

Great idea.

Let's extend that to people on Social Security retired folks, people on disability and also children who got survivor benefits before they
were 18. They definitely shouldn't be franchised. What do they know about governing?

Let's extend that to anyone getting veteran benefits or go to a VA hospital. I'm sick of these people sucking more tax money. We paid them enough while they were soldiers, so why should we have to keep paying for them after they are gone. They definitely shouldn't be franchised. What do they know about governing?

Let's extend that to the working poor like those working folks at wal-mart who because their employers don't pay them a living wage get food-stamps, reduced lunches at school and other assistance. They definitely shouldn't be franchised. What do they know about governing?

Let's extend that to farmers, ranchers, soldiers, government employees, etc...

yeah right...

This Boortz guy talks out of his ass.

and anyone who smokes is trash. What's funny is that people on welfare and women support this guy. I swear these people would die if they didn't have someone else thinking for them.

18. Some people are blind by the tax return!
They believe since they are getting $2,000 back for taxes, this administration and talk shows like Neal Boortz is all for them. The entire time, their jobs are being downsized and moved out of the country.

21. Boortz is a nobody.
He is a pimple on Limbaugh's ass, and even Limbaugh typically only gets a 1 or 2 share, not even in competition with Top 40 stations in most markets.

It's like Fox constantly crowing about beating CNN. So what? The CBS Nightly News typically gets ten times as many viewers as Fox.

Right-wing propaganda shows have always been and continue to be a FRINGE thing.

BTW, I'm not shocked at those comments. These people are very OPENLY opposed to democracy, and love to point out that the US is not one.

They'd like us to go back to the days when only the 10% of the population who were white male land-owners could vote.
