IF ONLY bush had said "spreading freedom & democracy" on Jan 2003
as his excuse for invasion & occupation of Iraq.

See, back then, the majority (75%) of Americans didn't believe bush had even made his case for invasion & occupation for "WMD".

http://www.usatoday.com/news/nation/2002-12-17-iraq-poll_x.htm

(WaPo) http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?id=658

And the vast majority of Americans didn't believe "humanitarian intervention" would justify attacking Iraq, either.

http://www.commondreams.org/headlines03/1114-06.htm

So just IMAGINE if bush had said back in January 2003 that we had to kill 100,000+ human beings in Iraq (so far) and lose 1500 US troops (so far) and spend $300 billion of our money (so far) to "spread freedom and democracy"!!!

Even the repugs would have laughed his stupid ass out of the White House.

Funny tho how so many idiot moran Americans swallow that bullshit after the fact.

1. They couldn't...
... because regime change is specifically listed as one of the impermissible reasons for invasions in international law. "Spreading democracy" clearly would require regime change.

The whole exercise has been a bait-and-switch routine. Use the acceptable reasons for the invasion, then admit that the purpose was regime change when there was no evidence of the formerly-stated acceptable reasons.

2. It's possible that for ...
Three Hundred Billion Dollars Bush could have bought Iraq from Saddam - including the Oil, Museums, mosques et cet' - and still have emerged with some change in his pocket.

And ..... without loss to a single human being !

3. All bush had to do was try diplomacy; Hussein would have jumped at the
chance to be a "good US ally" again.

But the scared to death of horses cowboy wannabe doesn't do diplomacy because he's a stupid ignorant loser.

4. I like to think of him as an narcissistic warmonger
Playing war with other peoples lives because he was too scared to participate himself. But that's just me. :)

6. Makes him feel he's not the yellow-belly little coward that he in fact is.
Yes he's very "brave" standing behind his podium.

5. In the immortal words of John Stewart....
"If he would have told us that in the beginning, we never would have... Oh, he's good."
