Gannon/Guckert story needs to develop NOW
It took one week for the basic elements of the Gannon story to break in the MSM. It seems to have really gotten ink today and was covered by the Today Show, Imus, etc. So the MSM has cautiously dipped their toes into the water. The world did not end so they made go deeper.

IMHO, what it will take for this story to continue to be covered is a twist or any new development. There are many unanswered questions and many paths the story could take from here. But if "another shoe does not drop" soon, the MSM will move on.

Ideally this story would be parcelled out day by day. Something like this would be the progression (some of this has already happened):

Stage 1: Someone in the WH press core is writing under an assumed name and gets their pass daily from the WH. Their questions are softballs.

Stage 2: Gannon responds, denies the websites are his directly, says they are for a "client," calls it a partisan witch hunt or some such thing. Meanwhile it comes out that not only are the websites his but he is on additional sites peddling his talents.

(the MSM was still ignoring the story when Gannon denied that the websites were his so this is water under the bridge)

Stage 3: Other reporters react to the facts which have emerged. O'Dowd and other write about procedures for getting a press pass. The basic Gannon/Guckert story goes mainstream, Katie Couric tests the waters. (this stage is now)

Stage 4: ?

There are many things yet to be established about this developing story and we may need to feed it if we want the story to continue to be covered. Any of the following would be news-worthy:

Who gave Guckert the passes daily?
How was Guckert recruited for this effort? Or who approached who?
Did Guckert's other line of work overlap with his WH/Eberle contacts?
Was the escort thing a front for blackmail (ie. blackmailing military and government people who sought out male escorts) To what end?
Why did Guckert play the persecuted christian card? Were others prepared to vouch for him?

Anyway something needs to happen next or am-news-ia will take effect and it will be like this never happened. Ideas?

1. Call Dan Rather!
Kidding!!! :P

Actually, it's time to hit up the right of center journalists/columnists with demands to get the answer to the question:

"In a post 9/11 world, how is it that an individual with almost zero journalism credentials, who appears to be an active partisan operative, and (even more incredible) a morally questionable lifestyle get the keys to the White House? I can't even get a tour as a US Citizen!"

(be sure and hit the morally questionable)
